“Natalia?” Mr. Ong asked in shock as he watched the person he expected to side with him, get up and walk towards Stephen Sy.
“Mr. Sy, why don’t we head down together. We’re all done for the day anyway.” Natalia Wu said as she smiled at Stephen.
“Right, yes, we’re done!” Carissa kicked Michael Ho’s chair making him jump and quickly sweep all of his things into his bag.
Stephen resisted the urge to laugh as Andrew Wong shook his head, stood up and followed Natalia to stand next to Stephen.
“What are you doing here, Liam?” Andrew asked in a cold tone.
From what Stephen could tell, the two
Stephen calmly made his way to the Chairman's office as everyone whispered about the scene Liam Te had made at the elevator. From what Stephen could gather from the whispers around him, Liam was a constant fixture at the CEO’s floor, and his outbursts were not rare. What was odd to them was the fact Liam’s outburst often happened after he was leaving his father’s office.Liam never dared approach the Chairman’s office, which was why the people in this are were so confident that Liam Te wouldn’t hear them.“Sorry, but are you lost?” A woman asked as she noticed Stephen walking through the hall headed to the Chairman’s office.
“You will learn a lot from Mr. Ong and his department, the man just hates people that use their connections to get into companies.” Eldrich Cho explained to his grandson as he offered Stephen a cup of coffee. “Then why does it seem like he and Liam Ye are actually friends?” Stephen asked as he crossed his arms on his chest. “Mr. Ong believes that that stupid boy refused the role your father gave him. So he sees him differently.” Eldrich Cho said as he shook his head in disapproval. “He will see your abilities and your worth in time.” Stephen nodded. He knew that his grandfather was right. “Does anyone else know that you survived?” Eldrich Cho asked his grandson. “Aside from you and Uncle William? Robert Ke figured it out and sent someone to talk to me.” Stephen decided to tell his grandfather everything. “That Ke boy will tell Edward Hao for sure, those two have been searching for you even if everyone told them you died in the car crash.” Eldrich Cho was smiling as he spoke. The next day, when Stephen returned to the office, he was still worried about his grandfather’s plans. He needed to tell Vanessa the truth before he brought her to have dinner with his grandfather. It didn’t have to be this weekend, but it had to be soon. Then he had the matter of the party, according to the invitation it was for this friday. He had to take Vanessa out to buy a dress for the event, one that suited her place as his fiance, not one of those tacky dresses socialites liked to buy. How he wished he could talk to his sister Amalia about the matter, but he didn’t even know on whose side she stood.Would she even believe him if they met?He was pulled from his thoughts when someone called his name.“Mr. Sy, boss.” It was Andrew Wong, waving his hands, trying to catch his attention.“Andrew.” Stephen greeted as he straightened himself. “Is something wrong?”He and his team were busy with a new project and Stephen was trying to figure out a solution when he got distracted.“
“They are targeting you and you know it.” Natalia hissed as soon as they returned to their area. “I know, how could I not know?” Stephen asked as he laughed at how crazy Mr. Ong and the department head were thinking this would take him down. “Are you going to the Chairman? Surely this qualifies as a reason to go to the Chairman.” Michael Ho asked in a low voice. They all knew that Stephen didn’t want his connection to the Chairman to be exposed, so they all did their best to keep it a secret. “If I ran to the Chairman for every little matter, that would make me no better than them. Besides, the task they have given us is not impossible. We have a month.” Stephen declared, much to his team members’ shock. “They gave us a month.” Natalia reminded him. “Enough time. Get me all the information on our costs and a flow chart on how our products get from the factory to the customer. Also I want to see a chart on their customer experience when ordering from us.” Stephen told them.
“Stephen!” Vanessa excitedly greeted as Stephen picked her up for lunch. Both of them had asked for a three hour lunch break, which Vanessa’s boss happily agreed to. While Stephen on the other hand was subjected to multiple insults by Mr. Ong, but he didn’t care. Mr. Ong was going to make things difficult for him no matter what. “Hey love.” Stephen greeted back as he kissed her on the lips before driving them to a high end mall nearby. He knew that he would have to butter Vaness up before breaking the news about the party to her. So, he took Vanessa to her favorite restaurant, where Vanessa started to get suspicious. “Stephen?” Vanessa asked as she looked at her fiance. “Did you do something wrong?” “No.” Stephen quickly answered, a little too quick, making Vanessa suspicious. “You made breakfast for me this morning, gave me a gift before we left the house, took me to have lunch in my favorite restaurant, clearly you did something wrong.” Vanessa said as she glared at Steph
All the dresses that Vanessa came out in looked like they were made for her.Ms. Carmen wanted to ask her to model for her store, but she knew that it was inappropriate since she was the future Madam Cho.Such a woman of high status was not suited to be a model, she was meant for greater things in life.“Miss Vanessa, I actually have some outfits that I think would look good on you. They are office wear and everyday wear, I would like to invite you to try them on.” Ms. Carmen said as she circled Vanessa. She was right about Vanessa’s measurements at first sight, everything fit her like a glove.“I coul
“Amalia, I think I left my coat inside the dressing room, would you accompany me inside to get it?” Robert Ke asked the young woman with dazzling hazel eyes as he began to panic. The moment the words left his lips, Robert Ke knew he had said the wrong thing. “Robert, you’re wearing your coat.” Amalia Cho pointed out looking at him as if he were crazy. In front of them, Stephen gave Robert a thankful smile as he left the boutique with Vanessa. He quickly drove her back to work before finally returning to Cho Industries. It was only when he arrived back in his office that he was able to fully process what had happened. He had seen his younger sister. He wanted more than anything to turn around and hug her, to tell her that he wasn’t dead. Stephen wanted to introduce Vanessa to her, he wanted to tell Amalia that she was going to have a sister-in-law that could help her bully her brother. He wanted so many things and yet he couldn’t speak to her. When Stephen returned to the off
“Ch- Ch- Chairman Cho.” Catherine Ying said in shock as the Chairman approached her. “It seems to me that you are putting your own interests ahead of the company, what did this young man do to you?” Eldrich Cho asked as he glanced at Stephen, pretending not to know him.Stephen’s team members gasped in shock. Not only did the Chairman arrive at the perfect time, but he was also pretending not to know Stephen. They began to wonder why the Chairman and Stephen were hiding the fact that Stephen was personally recruited by the most powerful man in the company.“Chairman, it’s just that my department has a lot of matters to work on. We don’t have a lot of time to answer his queries.” Catherine Ying tried her best to save her own skin, but she already knew that her efforts were in vain.Eldrich Cho had heard it all. Stephen had sent him a message on Monday asking him to witness something, he didn’t even ask his grandfather for help. But, how could the old man watch as his grandson and h
