112. Acknowledgment

Eugene stood behind Kalix, observing how Jane was treated with coldness, yet her heart felt uneasy every time she heard the words uttered by Jane. It was as if she could imagine Kalix sharing his life with another woman for years.

Despite her rationality, she felt jealous, and the feeling surfaced as if it could strangle her at any moment. Eugene remained silent, unable to say anything. She stood frozen behind Kalix, watching the two and listening to their conversation.

On the other side, Jane was oblivious to how Kalix looked at her, so she didn't realize his impatience. Overflowing with emotions, she poured out all the hardships in her heart.

"I'm guilty of betraying you before and being a spy for Mason. I beg for your forgiveness, Kalix, please forgive me and come back to me like before. Please stop tormenting me, stop making me scared and suffer."

Jane cried, trying to hold Kalix's hand, showing her sincerity. Her entire body trembled, and her sorrow was palpable to others.
