122. For a Lifetime

The celebration of Old Connor’s birthday continued even if some people felt dissatisfied. After Kalix took a step away from the old man’s side, the attendees took turns greeting him.

Kalix returned to his seat with Eugene and enjoyed the event.

“Did you manage to get Old Connor’s contact number?” Eugene asked in a low voice, almost only audible to the two of them.

Kalix didn’t deny it, proudly showing the business card given to him by Old Connor.

“Great!” Eugene praised him, giving him two thumbs up and smiling proudly.

For a moment, Kalix didn’t know how to react to his girlfriend’s enthusiasm. But he knew he was happy because Eugene understood him. They ate and talked about simple things until halfway through the event.

Old Connor was very old, he needed more rest time, including afternoon naps. So he had to return to his room earlier. However, even though Old Connor was not there, the event would still continue with Mr. Connor and other Connor family members present as hosts.
