137. The Difference

Jane glanced back reflexively, furrowing her brows as she realized who was tapping her shoulder and saying something unpleasant.

"Well, I regret it," said Jane, giving Mr. Connor a cold snort. Then she continued, "I regret choosing to work with you at the beginning, but you're not very helpful."

"Tsk," Mr. Connor rolled his eyes but did not express any displeasure. "You were the one who approached me first and offered to work together. If you regret it, that's your business and it doesn't affect our deal."

Jane snorted coldly, turned around, and walked into the restaurant. Initially, she thought she wouldn't work with Kalix, so she chose Mr. Connor. However, who would have guessed that Kalix in his current life would be much stronger and certainly more appealing. Jane could only sigh deeply with regret.

As she entered the restaurant, she bumped into someone she knew.
