40. Nick

The next morning, Kalix woke up with a familiar headache. He found himself in his room, still in last night’s clothes. Holding his very dry throat, Kalix forced himself to stand.

In the living room, he saw Nick lying on the sofa. With a somewhat confused mind, he tried to remember what happened last night, it seemed they both talked so much that Kalix couldn’t recall anything.

“You’re awake...” Nick’s raspy voice greeted him as he squinted at Kalix. Kalix mumbled lightly in response, “Do you want some warm water?”

Nick nodded before getting up to wash his face. It was almost 11 a.m. when they fully realized and freshened up.

“Aren’t you going to class?” Nick asked. “I have a morning class. What about you? Want to wait here or go for a walk alone?”

Nick thought for a moment and replied, “I don’t want to stay here alone, and I don’t know much about the capital, so I don’t want to wander alone.”

“So, do you want to come to my campus?”

Nick chuckled lightly, conveying a meaning understood
