Bernard strides arrogantly onto the podium. Deep within his bead-like eyes, satisfaction and a sense of triumph gleam, carefully concealed from the onlookers. He pretends to be humble.

Unfortunately, not everyone witnessing is clueless youth. For the adults who’ve faced various life challenges and encountered many characters like Bernard, this act is all too familiar.

Standing before the podium, holding a gold medal, Bernard scans the crowd, wearing a polite smile.

“Thank you all; hard work eventually yields ability, and ability is more important than speed.”

Kalix, hearing the last sentence, can’t help but find it amusing, suppressing a mocking laugh.

What could be going through Bernard’s mind to make him so arrogant?
