Carlos was escorted to the defendant's seat in handcuffs. He first glanced at his father, Cade, and mother, then stared at Dion sitting next to Kalix with a malicious look. He had already discussed with his lawyer and had the police take the audio to the country's best forensic laboratory for testing.

If he indeed uttered that sentence, how could he not know?

Once the audio evidence is withdrawn, the video won't be sufficient to confirm his guilt, and he can push everything onto Eve.
