85. Pretends

"After knowing his mask now, I had to hold back nausea; just imagining his face makes me want to punch him," Mr Lucas muttered while his wife adjusted the bow tie on his collar.

His wife gently patted Mr Lucas's arm, "You're only feeling it now; imagine us who have had to endure it for a long time, combined with your naive attitude," she teased, suppressing a laugh.

Mr. Lucas rolled his eyes, "Any advice for holding back the nausea?" he asked again.

"Unfortunately, there is none; you must endure it however you can. Don't jeopardise our plan, Lucas Walsh," Miriam threatened, pointing her finger at her husband.

Hazel laughed at her parents' antics, "You could pretend to cough so he wouldn't dare talk to you, Dad. He, who considers himself higher in status than others, will keep away from you," she suggested later.

Mr. Lucas's eyes sparkled, pleased to hear his daughter's idea. But not for long, as his eyes caught the unfinished wallpaper on the wall due to the recent shooting incident.
