(The Williams Home) "Ma, I am not comfortable sitting here all day, laying around. It's not going to help me win the contract" Natasha complained "Well, didn't you say you know the CEO of the company?" Mrs. Williams asked "I did say that" Natasha agreed"Then getting this contract should be a walkover for you, right Sylvester?" Mrs. Williams asked turning to Sylvester "I know him doesn't mean I shouldn't work hard for it" Natasha explained "Oh, it's easier then. It's a he" Mrs. Williams admonished smiling "I can take it from here if this is too much for you to handle. I am sure I can get us the contract as well" Sylvester chipped in "What are you all gibbering about when Gonzalez is trending in the news?" Mr. Williams yelled "Why is he trending?" A fearful Natasha asked "For only the wrong reasons of course," Mrs. Williams giggled, tapping her phone "Let me see that," Natasha says and she rushed over to where her mother was "Oh my God, this is not good. I need to see Gonza
(The Gonzalez's Home) "I'm sorry you had to have that encounter with my mum. Terrible as it is, I must admit that she isn't the best mother. I am ashamed to admit that I never thought of it like that, I had no idea I was being fooled, I easily believed anything that I was told" Natasha admitted "Honey, I have told you times without a number to stop apologizing. She is your mother, how were you supposed to know? I wouldn't know too, I mean Id didn't know until she visited me. Mr. Davies confirmed it" Gonzalez replied "Mr. Davies? Who is he?" Natasha inquired "Oh, my boss at the new company. See, then out he has eyes all around the city" Gonzalez explained "And should we not be scared?" Natasha asked, worried "Sacred? No" "You can't be so sure about someone who has eyes all over the city" Natasha warned "I promise you, he is not like that. We are Gonzalez assured, trying to encourage Natasha and avoid negative thoughts "Speaking of which, how is work going? And what's it with a
Gonzalez's pov “Finally, it is the weekend,” I said giggling and excited about it. One of the most amazing things about my new job is that I get to have the weekend to myself, this was not the same with all the other places I have worked. I never had free time, no, not since I lost my parents. I worked from dawn to dusk, approximately 15 hours a day, Monday to Sunday with no rest.I am grateful for Mr. Davies as he seems to be very understanding. He had paid me yesterday and said I had the weekend to myself. I have never been so unbothered about my job or its pay, this was going to be a long run. I would work here for as many months as he wanted me to work until we can get to the root of this. One thing I have learned in life is, good things never last.Almost immediately, I felt guilty. I have been so excited about the new job that I seem to not have thought about my parents enough or used the extra time to fulfilling the promise I had made to find and avenge their killer. Believe
Mrs. Williams pov(Throwback)55 years ago, a little girl watched her mom struggle to get on from day to day. Her father died when she was just one, leaving her mother with two kids to raise. Whatever she did, people never saw the hood, no one wanted to marry a “half-woman” as they called single mothers then. Securing even a place to stay was as tiring as birthing a child. “Ma’am, we can’t let a single woman with no husband and two kids stay here. It can bring a lot of trouble, what happened to your husband?” They thought she was one of those loose women out there. Her mother breathed pain, lived in misery, and died unhappily. Even though the world has gotten better than it was then, single mothers are still stigmatized daily. Her daughter doesn’t tell her but she knows, she sees it in her eyes; carrying a bump around with no man to show. This was why she was concerned, she did not want her daughter to experience or live as her mom did. She wanted her to be accepted by society and b
Gonzalez's povThe lady I met who I would find out later, was Eloise. She had forgotten her phone at the food restaurant we met at, she must have been so overtaken by our discussions to not remember her phone when leaving. I knew I left a good impression on her for I was a boss and master at first impressions. I had been bothered about how to reach her on the phone until a call came in and she told me that she was the one who was trying to look for her phone."It is nice to meet you, again," she said when we met at an agreed location"Yes, again" I agreed to nod. She even looked more beautiful and radiant than I remembered. I was taking my time as I did not want her to see me as desperate or like the other men she must be familiar with.We had taken the time to talk for a few minutes before she said she had work she needed to attend to"I hope I see you again," she said to me beaming with smiles. God, she had the most beautiful smile, not just beautiful but enchanting too."Yes, you w
Mr. Davies's povHow dare she question my words? Or what do I do? Here am I, offering her all that information for nothing and the least I expected her to say was, "thank you" not try to question my conscience or something. What was she trying to do? Question my mind? Make me feel guilty? Huh, she was dreaming."Calm down, calm down" were the only words I kept muttering to myself. What was she? A saint? "Bullshit" I cursed under my breath.I had set up a meeting for today with Gonzalez. This was the day I had set to take someone off the list. I checked with the driver to see if he had any family and he did. I would make sure that they were well taken care of. The photojournalist, I will handle her very much later. For now, I had more important things to do.I went into the bathroom humming Drake's "Too sexy" featuring Future. "Too sexy for this shit.." I continued thinking of what to wear today. I had to dress to kill as I was indeed going to kill. "Mr. Davies, we are seated and w
Anonymous pov"All I am saying boss is that this investigation should continue with everyone else and not just be be given to one person to handle". At this point, I could see that all that I was saying did not make a shit sense to the boss as he got more furious as I talked. It was like I vexed him all the time that I talked so I decided to shut it and accept my fate because he had given me a look that said "I do not care about what you have to say" look."Why would you betray me, dawg? I have done almost everything for you. What have I not done for you? Give you my life? I gave you a job, I pay you well. God damn it, I even gave you a house. Do you know how much I hate people who stab me in the back and you do the same? But, I am afraid that has to end today. Rest assured your family will be well taken care of, that I promise because unlike you I am a very much responsible man" he finished and I knew that was the end of me.I thought of my wife and kids, how my wife had always told
Anonymous pov"What do you think we should do about her?" He had asked"I had an idea that might not be a good one," I said wondering if it was worth the try."Let us hear it" he obliged"How about we tell her husband has been kidnapped?" I said feeling stupid about the idea"I do not understand. We are trying to keep this woman off of our backs and you can only suggest that we will tell her husband has been kidnapped?""Yes, and those who kidnapped him are very dangerous people and are after the rest of his family so she has to leave the country. And we can book a flight for her and all her children very easily. Keep them on an island somewhere and make sure that they are well provided for. That way, she would forget about him. Will take time but she will get over it eventually?" I said assuring him"What about him?""And by him, you mean him?""Yes we have to do it tonight, get this all wrapped up and finished.""Listen, if you want I could do it for you""Do not bother. I will do
