Chapter fourteen

Gonzalez's pov

“Finally, it is the weekend,” I said giggling and excited about it. One of the most amazing things about my new job is that I get to have the weekend to myself, this was not the same with all the other places I have worked. I never had free time, no, not since I lost my parents. I worked from dawn to dusk, approximately 15 hours a day, Monday to Sunday with no rest.

I am grateful for Mr. Davies as he seems to be very understanding. He had paid me yesterday and said I had the weekend to myself. I have never been so unbothered about my job or its pay, this was going to be a long run. I would work here for as many months as he wanted me to work until we can get to the root of this. One thing I have learned in life is, good things never last.

Almost immediately, I felt guilty. I have been so excited about the new job that I seem to not have thought about my parents enough or used the extra time to fulfilling the promise I had made to find and avenge their killer.
