Chapter ninety seven

Gonzalez listened intently as Miguel told him about his son's troubles. Carlos had started hanging out with a group of kids who were known for getting into trouble, and Miguel was worried that he was headed down a dangerous path. Gonzalez could see the pain and worry etched on his friend's face and knew that he had to help.

"Of course, I'll help you, Miguel. Let's talk to Carlos and see if we can help him find a better path," Gonzalez said.

Over the next few weeks, Gonzalez spent time with Carlos, talking to him about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and the importance of making positive choices. He also introduced him to some of his friends who were involved in community service and showed him the positive impact that giving back could have on his life.
