chapter 2

Trevor instantly became intrigued and inquired of his receptionist, Tracy, about these claims made by Elijah that could cost him his potential investor, but even after hearing what Elijah accused him of, he remains unshaken.

“So my stupid half brother claims he made a fool of himself to deceive me?” He chuckles, still staring at Tracy, who, like the other board members, is freaked out by Elijah’s mighty return and the accusations he made against their CEO.

“Oh Elijah, aren’t you the funniest?” He goes on.

The board members, who are still sitting at the office’s meeting table, are all quietly staring at their egotistical CEO.

although, unlike him, they recognize the potential harm that these claims could bring the Wilson company, most of them fear Trevor, who they know as arrogant, rude, and short-tempered.

Ever since Trevor took over the Wilson companies from Elijah, nothing has been the same; he acts as he pleases and talks to employees however he chooses, and because most are frightened of losing their jobs, they just allow him, which is why the Wilson company currently requires an investor to restore it.

“Not only that, but he claims you lied about inheriting your father’s fortune and also attempted to assassinate him.” Tracy continues, still seeking to convince her boss of the seriousness of the situation.

However, unfortunately, like she cracked a joke, once again the arrogant average looking Millionaire chuckles.

“Why would I want to murder the only clown in the world who makes me laugh?” He inquires, his gaze fixed on her.

Tracy looks at him for a minute, concerned about his calmness.

“For money.” She responds after a brief pause.

“Which money? Elijah is a drunkard and has no money. For all I know, one of my enemies bribed him to make these ridiculous accusations in exchange for, getting him off the streets and lending him that ridiculous suit he’s parading on.

But whoever the clown is, too bad for him because no one will believe a homeless drunkard like Elijah, let alone an entrepreneur like Mr. Brown, our potential investor.” He concludes boldly.

The board members turn to stare at him and continue to appear all big, despite what may be at stake.

“But, Mr. Trump, whether or not these are simply bogus claims, the media will make a big issue out of them, and you know how people take anything the media feeds them, so these might ruin you. It can put the company out of business.” Mr. William, one stakeholder, tries to remind Trevor of what’s at stake hoping he will finally comprehend the gravity of Elijah’s charges, but like the arrogant guy that he is, Trevor will not listen to anyone.

“Don’t worry, none of that will occur. No one will believe a drunk, and as I already mentioned, my brother is only looking for attention. Now, returning to the important matter that deserves my attention, our investor MR. Brown will be here in an hour, so make sure you all present your finest pitch. Meanwhile, I’ll be in my office.” He says this as he walks out, his continued arrogance shocking his board members even more.

The city’s most beloved resurfaced multimillionaire was close to the end of his press conference, which had been making the rounds on social media since earlier in the day, when one reporter asked him one last question.

“Last question, Mr. Wilson: when you said you were returning to finally face the devil, did you mean you were going to seek vengeance on Mr. Trump for attempting to kill you and steal your father’s wealth?”

“Of course not. Trevor is my brother; I’m not seeking to start a battle, but to talk things over with him and resolve our differences; maybe, we’ll be able to put everything behind us and go on.” He pauses for a moment to smile before going to close the conference.

“I’m afraid that’ll be all I can say due to lack of time. Thank you everybody for coming, and have a good day.”

He smiles, satisfied with himself, as he eventually leaves and gets into his luxury, Lamborghini.

The multimillionaire knows well that he has just given the media a platform to attack Trevor Trump.

He knows that mentioning Trevor attempting to kill him will deflect everyone’s attention away from him, and he realizes that informing them Trevor didn’t become a millionaire by taking everything from him will force the authorities to investigate Trevor, which is exactly what he wants.

“Get ready, Trevor Trump. The game is about to begin,” he says as he settles in his Lamborghini seat and the driver drives away.

As soon as Trevor enters his office, he receives a call from his wife, Leon Trump, which he cheerfully answers.

“Mrs. Trump,” he says.

Trevor only acts differently with Leon; despite how their marriage began, he seemed to adore her.

“What the hell is going on, Trevor? The press has been pestering me and the kids all day. Evidently, they want to know how we feel about Trevor’s mighty return!” The Ceo’s wife yells, her voice loud and angry.

Leon appears to be just like the rest of the world. She is shocked and confused by Elijah’s unexpected return.

“What? Are you and the kids okay?” Trevor expresses concern to his wife.

Leon sighs in response.

“We are, of course, fine. We contacted security. What I want to know is how this is happening, how did Elijah become a millionaire again when he was an alcoholic just a few weeks ago and I thought you had taken everything from him!” Leon shows her disbelief at Elijah’s mighty return once more, as she was present when Trevor took everything from him, leaving him depressed till he became a drinker.

Elijah appears to have shocked everyone except for his half brother, who believes he’s just lying about being a multimillionaire and making claims against him to gain attention.

“I did, and that’s how I know all of this is Elijah trying to get attention.” Trevor responds confidently.

“What about the accusations he leveled against you? Trevor, those things have the potential to ruin you.”

“No, it doesn’t, because no one will believe a useless drunkard who is lying about being a millionaire in order to gain attention.”

While Trevor is still on the phone, he is startled to hear his receptionist knock on his door as she enters.

“Mr. Trump!” She says.

“I’m on the phone, Tracy!” he yells aggressively, as he turns to face her

Trevor dislikes being disturbed, and Tracy is notorious for doing so.

“Mr. Brown has arrived.” She explains, surprising him.

..

Mr. Brown, why would MR. Brown arrive so early when, as Trevor stated, he was only expected in an hour?

“What? So soon?” Trevor inquires as he hangs off the phone with his wife.

“Yes, he appears to have another meeting later, therefore he has to arrive here early.” Tracy’s answers almost put Trevor at rest, but Trevor is still full of questions.

Could he have heard Elijah’s claims against Trevor and backed out of their plan to invest in and partner with Wilson Company?

“I’m right behind you.” He says this as he walks behind his receptionist.

Trevor enters his board room and joins his board members in waiting for Mr. Brown.

A few seconds later, they all see Tracy walk in

“I thought I told you to let him.” Trevor says from his seat.

Tracy says nothing for a minute, only looking at him, hesitating to speak; just as she is about to respond, a familiar voice approaching shocks Trevor and his board members.

“I am here.” a man in a blue suit says

“What? Elijah!” Shouts Trevor as he stands from his seat.
