Victoria’s body shook in anger as she read the note in her hands. It was hand-written and though the cursive style looked good in the eyes, she can’t appreciate it.

Disbelief washed over her as she repeatedly read it. The contents of the note made it hard for her to comprehend it, and when she did she jumped to her feet and ran back towards her room.

“Vicky!” Brandon was right behind her, their footsteps were frantic as they raced towards the room.

She was gasping for air when she slammed the door open and immediately went to the painting and removed it. Her hands shook as she punched the code to her safe.

“Calm down, Vicky. You’re shaking.” Brandon tried to calm her down but Victoria didn’t even bother to listen to him. Her attention was all focused on her safe.

“Dammit!” She cursed, her voice was shaking when she punched the wrong code because of too much tension.

When she got it right, she didn’t waste any time, she opened it.

A gasp escaped her mouth the moment she saw the e

He was currently eating dinner. The place was crowded, which was a

  • Revenge of the Secret Heir   The Plan

After almost two days without sleep, Simon finally got the chance to rest. Janus was generous enough to let him stay for the night. They were talking over beer when Simon fell asleep because of exhaustion. Janus felt pity for his friend. He let Simon take his rest. Good thing it’s his rest day today, so he will stay in his apartment and assist Simon. Simon woke up with a grumbling stomach. The delicious smell of bacon, toast, and coffee assaulted his senses. He felt refreshed and regained his energy that he finally got to rest. Escaping and eluding the police and the crowd was not easy. Not to mention that he still had to make sure that his identity was concealed. “Good morning, princess.” He heard Janus from the kitchen. The apartment was small, good for only one person, but it was neatly arranged. “Morning, sorry I dozed off last night. I’m fucking exhausted.” He rubbed his eyes as he pulled himself to sit on the couch. He remembered talking to Janus, and then he didn’t reali

  • Revenge of the Secret Heir   The Antique Shop

“Damn, I don’t like this idea. Isn’t it illegal?” Janus was pacing back and forth in his small living room. Simon had briefed him on what to do and say and who he needed to talk to for them to acquire the said new identification Simon was talking about. “It’s not that hard, you just have to enter that antique store and find who Chris Ramsey is. He’s the person that you need to talk to.” Simon was sitting on the worn-out sofa. He pushed a picture to the table. Janus immediately went to the seat opposite of Simon and took the picture. “This is the man?” he asked. Simon nodded. “He’s an antique dealer, but he has also been doing these kinds of things. He knows how to hack the government’s database, so he’s really reliable.” Simon has been explaining to Janus what he needs to do. He will not be going there, but Janus will. Simon can’t risk exposing his identity to anyone, especially to a person who can hack systems. He might have sold him to those interested parties, Simon can’t re

Janus pushed the picture towards Chris. The huge man eyed him with suspicion before his eyes went down to the picture laid on top of the table. “Who’s that?” he asked, his voice full of angst. Janus gave him an uncertain smile. He’s totally new to this kind of deal. Hell, never in his life did he see himself having to do some kind of business deal with someone who was into illegal business. He’s always been an employee type of guy. “That’s Simon. He’s the one who needs a new identity. He’s a new guy here, and he wanted to start a clean slate, so that’s it.” Janus laughed, again, in an awkward way. Chris looked at him with an amused face. A minute later, he started to laugh. He leaned back in his chair and relaxed himself. “You see that’s not going to be that way. I require him to come here and ask for a favor himself. That’s the way that it should be.” Simon was right about Chris. This is the way they do their business here. If you want to have a new identity, then you need to f

  • Revenge of the Secret Heir   Next Plan

After a week of waiting, Simon finally got his new identity. The picture he used on his new identification card looked entirely different. There were no traces of Simon Salvatore Morelli in the picture. “Damn, man. You really look different in that picture. How did you do that? I mean, you wore that artificial hair and that beard to cover your face, the traces of your face totally disappeared. Did you use some makeup, man?” Janus was baffled. The moment he saw the card, he was amazed by how Simon could transform his face into someone who was totally not him. Simon intentionally made his hair a little longer, he had been avoiding going to the barber shop for a haircut. He even dyed his hair into a dirty blonde, concealing the real color of his hair. He used eye contacts with the color of emerald green. He used black contacts when he was still staying with Victoria, he needed to use another color now. And the beard. It covered his jaw and chin, making it hard to identify Salvatorre

  • Revenge of the Secret Heir   The Plan was Burglary

Apart from his plans that involve Janus, Simon had other plans that only he himself knew. He trusted Janus enough that he would not betray him, but there are things that should be done alone, and the things that only he should know. It was already eleven in the evening. Everyone was asleep as he snuck inside the huge mansion of Senator James Morgan. Simon developed this idea while he was still staying with Victoria. That woman was involved in burglary, she had men steal the most expensive pieces of jewelry in the country. Simon had to admit that he’s broke as fuck right now. He needed money to go on with his plans. This is entirely risky but he’ll do it anyway. Selling stolen jewelry in the black market was not new. In reality, almost all of the items sold in the black market, especially jewelry and paintings were stolen. The owners can’t do anything about it. If they want to get the item back, then they just have to buy it back, or else it will have another owner. This is the r

  • Revenge of the Secret Heir   Counterfeit Jewelry

After Simon’s break-in into Morgan’s house, it became national news. And what’s more crazy? People were actually happy that the infamous senator became a victim of burglary. Many people gave their comments thanking whoever broke into his house. Some even expressed their happiness and requested that the senator should be beaten to death for being a corrupt official. Simon couldn’t put the smile out of his face. As he listened to the news, the conscience that was supposed to be eating him from the inside slowly dissipated. Police investigators, and even the FBI got involved. “It's one of the biggest cases of burglary in the century. The stolen jewelry may amount to millions of dollars. The burglar, which the people now called The Shadow, was still at large.” He turned off the television and went to get beer from the fridge. He just moved to this apartment yesterday, and it was much more secure than Janus’ apartment building which was infested with mold and cockroaches. “The Shado

Simon was knocked down by a hard punch that had his jaw almost dislocated. He woke up with a raging headache and his mouth was fucking painful. At first, his visions were blurry, but as the minute passed, he came to see where he was. He was still in the dilapidated building, but he was now tied to a chair. Both of his hands and feet were tied into the chair that he was sitting in. He grimaced. He was being crossed by those bastards. He tried to move, but the ropes were so tight that he could barely move even a little. He looked around him. Cash was not there, the armed men were gone, but there were two who glanced at his way but didn’t say a word. Anger bubbled from the pit of his stomach. What he hated the most in the world were traitors. He was too trusting, and Simon thought that it was time to change that attitude. He’s been too kind and considerate, and this always happens when he chose to listen to his heart instead of his head. “Those fucking assholes will pay.” The j

The ride going to the airport was long and heart-stopping. The driver did his very best to dodge the cars that were tailing them, but it was a futile attempt. The chase was rough, though those cars did nothing but chase them, it was still rough. “Damn those bastards. What do they want? They just chased us like it was fun for them.” Ryzen shook his head as he looked at the rearview mirror. The driver of the cab did a good job of keeping them at a distance. “Don’t mind them. We will arrive at the airport in less than five minutes now. Be ready. We need to run fast as soon as this cab stops at the entrance of the airport.” Simon instructed them what to do the moment they arrived. “What? Run? But what if these men have guns? I am sure they were the ones who visited us. Damn, these Chinese gangsters!” Silence took over as they sped their way in the street. The night was ripe, it was already ten in the evening, and the streets were packed with people. Addison keeps on looking at the

Fear began to envelop Addison’s chest. These armed men were looking for her and there was no way that she was going to go with them. Addison shook her head. “No. There’s no way I am going with those guys, Simon.” She took a step back, it was an act of self-preservation. Federico took a step forward in front of Addison. His hands were ready to draw guns that were hidden behind his jeans. He’s always prepared when a time like this arises. “I already talked to Black Scar, and I will talk to him again. You can’t just drag my girlfriend out of here.” Simon calmly suggests. His calm demeanor was much more scary than those men with high-powered guns. He smiled politely at those people. “I suggest that you go back now. I will call him to negotiate. Please, I don’t want any ruckus in here.” He said again, this time he was smiling. Addison swallowed an invisible lump from her throat. This was her fault. If she wasn’t so stubborn enough, this wouldn’t have happened. Now some Asian gangst

All eyes were set to Simon and they waited for his reaction as the phone call ended. His face was so serious that Federico was so sure it was not good news. “What did he say?” Addison was the first one to break the silence. “It’s the Black Scar, right? What does he want from you?” Addison shifted from her seat. For some reason she couldn’t understand, she had a feeling that this was not going to be a good night for all of them. He guts told her so, and it was never wrong before. “Well?” Federico raised an eyebrow at Simon. Simon looked at them one by one before he released a heavy sigh and massaged his temple. That action alone indicated that something was wrong. “Am I in trouble, Simon?” Addie’s chest pounded hard. Are those men coming after them now? Before Simon could even answer them they heard a loud banging on the doer. Not a simple knock, but an urgent banging that’s demanding. “Who the hell is that?” Ryzen got to his feet and went to open the door. “Wait! Don’t open

Well, it’s the worst thing that she experienced because she kidnaped a couple of times and she’s not new to this. But this happening in a foreign country makes it more dreadful. Simon was quick to rush Addison and check on her. “Are you hurt? Did those guys?” Simon gripped Addison’s shoulder and examined if she endured any injuries from the incident. Addison just rolled her eyes and shrugged off Simon’s hand. “You know I’m fine because you had someone following us.” She sat on the sofa, crossed her arms in front and raised an eyebrow at Simon. Both Ryzen and Federico turned their heads to Simon who nonchalantly puffed smoke from his mouth. “Damn!” Simon gave in. “Okay, I had them tailed you. What am I supposed to do? After going from one store to another, Addison was famished. “Ryzen! What are you looking at?” She pulled his attention back to his. She glanced in the direction that Ryzen was looking but she saw nothing there. “What? Did you see a beautiful Chinese girl?” Addison teased him. But Ryzen didn’t bite in her joke. He looked serious and worried at the same time. “Come on, let’s eat! I think their food is so delicious.” While Addison was busy talking to the old woman who was selling the street food, Ryzen squinted his eyes. “Are you sure that you two are going to be alright?” Federico asked Ryzen again. They were gathered in the living room of the house that they rented. It’s a two-story bungalow house. Simon preferred to rent a home than stay in a hotel. Ryzen shrugged his shoulder, ignoring Federico’s worries. Simon tapped Federico’s shoulder, he was standing behind him. “Don’t worry about it, they are going to be fine. Right, Ryzen?” Simon and Federico both turned their heads to look at Ryzen. “Of course!” Ryzen yelled out in panic and followed it with a laugh. “You can trust me on this.” He assured them, confidence was laced in his voice. Federico wasn't sure about this one. He was damn worried, but he knew he can’t do anything about it if that’s what Addison wanted. Addison wanted to explore Hong Kong and she requested that she would go by herself. Federico and Simon said no, and told her that it would be too dangerous for her to go alone, especially in a place that she’s not familiar with.

It was too dangerous. “Hey, are you all right?” Addison’s attention was diverted to the man who was beside her. It’s been weeks but the trauma was still fresh from Addison’s mind. The fear was still present inside her heart and she couldn’t help but overthink things. She was drinking her coffee one early morning in the gazebo inside Simon’s estate. She still can’t get over the fact that they were able to make it out of Mancini’s mansion. Thinking about her heart suddenly felt heavy. That huge man who helped her never made it out. He was one of Mancini’s most trusted personnel but he was so kind that he helped her. If only Addison could turn back the clock, he wouldn’t have left him in that state there. Regret and guilt consumed her. “Hey…” Federico came with a cup of hot coffee in his hand. “You wouldn’t mind if I joined you, right?” He looked fresh with his hair combed to the side and had a bright smile plastered on his face. Addison smiled at him. “No, not at all. Come.” She gestured to the empty seat in front of her. Simon was still recovering from his stab wound and Addison had the
