Chapter 6: The Expensive Quest

The last time James wanted to come here was to get a gift for Wendy which he had to save for weeks to afford. However that is not the case anymore as he is the new heir of the Robert Family.

"Anyways, he is here to just get some clothes for his new caliber. Anything else doesn't matter now." James thought to himself as he shove Wendy's thought immediately from his mind.

This is the first time James has the opportunity of entering the Expensive Quest. He can't wait to have the feeling of the rich and privileged shopping in an expensive mall.

Besides he owns the company according to Anderson. Also, official handover has not been done yet, he would like to just go in as an anonymous and get what he needs without being noticed. 

However James decided it would be better to get to know his new company and thought of touring round the shopping mall for sightseeing before finally getting his clothes. He decided immediately and started walking towards the entrance. 

Immediately the security noticed James, he wondered what he was doing here. The clothes James wore looked outdated even though they were still new. James on the other hand smiled at him because he was used to this during his delivery service day.

The security felt what a poor person like him is doing at an expensive mall like this. The fact that he was smiling and appeared not smart made the security to be more cautious. Probably a shoplifter, the security thought as he scan James multiple times and decided to ask him a few questions before letting him in.

"What are you here for if I may ask?" The security asked James politely. 

"I'm here to get some clothes just like everyone else." James said confidently with a smile. Since the security asked politely he is definitely doing his job James thought. 

"Okay. You can go in, sir." The security gave way to James since he didn't find him wanting. His duty was to keep the company safe from harm and disturbance and James might be another customer. 

Immediately James walked in, the Expensive Quest depicts its name due to its display of elegance. The shining disco lights brighten the mall making each section beautiful to sight. Which way will he go right or left James contemplated as he was too attracted to the mall.

Meanwhile the mall assistant who was standing few meters noticed James and decided to approach him.

"Good day sir and merry Christmas." The lady said with a smile. She also notices James' appearance immediately, however he might be here to make some purchase which she will get a commission for and besides it is her job she is doing.

"Good day young lady." James said while gazing at the beautiful sales rep. She is a beautiful lady that appears to be in her early twenties. She was well dressed in her racks depicting the company's standard. She has a name tag on.

"Nancy, right?" James asked.

"Yes sir. How may I be of help." The mall assistant asked James how she would be of help to him.

"I'm here to get some clothes. This is my first time here, so I would like you to take me around the mall for sightseeing before the clothing section. If you don't mind" James said with a wild grin on his face. He couldn't hide how excited he was. I own the company now why not taking me around to see what we do around here James thought

"Alright no problem about that. Kindly follow me sir." Nancy said as she began walking James through the Expensive Quest. Following the footsteps of Nancy, they both entered the elevator taking them to the last floor.

"This section is where the cinema is. It is a medium sized cinema room. A movie was being shown at the moment but Nancy didn't wait any longer as he moved ahead to show James the restaurant which shares the same building with the cinema. 

The menu was boldly written on the wall as James quickly glanced at a food cost whopping 10,000 dollars. 

"These are the only two sections in this floor. The next floor houses the gaming centers. Can we head there right?" Nancy said without showing any sign of being tired.

"Yes. Let's head there. I would like us to get back to the clothing units soon." James noticed Nancy was a bit in a hurry and he didn't want to waste too much of her time. He believes there is a handover and besides he plans on making Anderson his personal assistant. 

"Probably we should just head there right?" Nancy asked. 

"It will be better." At this point, James remembered the picnic later which was the main reason he is getting new clothes in the first place. 

Arriving at the clothing section, Nancy's colleague noticed she was still with James made him wonder what is going on. He quickly approached them but he was blocked by some couple who were also here to get some clothes. However they didn't recognize it was James present because he was backing them. 

Immediately Nancy took James through their varieties. James made his choices as they passed by each designer's clothes. He had made sure he picked from each section of the designer clothes Nancy showed him. Ranging from Prada to Dolce and Gabbana to Louis Vuitton designers. He isn't familiar with the designers yet, so he just kept on selecting anyone that appeals to him.

Meanwhile Nancy was very happy because if James eventually buys all these clothes, she is getting a whole lot of commission from them. Christmas will be super exciting for her.

After a few sections, James finally felt he had enough. This time around Wendy and Alex were walking to him. At first when Wendy saw James she believed he must be here for another delivery. 

Immediately she remembered how he had spoiled her honeymoon at the hotel. His mere appearance disgusted her and while trying to reminisce, Nancy came with James' last piece of selection. 

"This is the last one. Can we proceed to make payment?" Immediately Wendy heard this she laughed out hysterically calling both James and Nancy attention.

"I'm sure you can't shoplift all these clothe or you are about to perform wonders with your finger again?" Wendy ridiculed James. Meanwhile James smiled and thought if only Wendy knows he owns the shopping mall she would bow down and beg him. However he has nothing to prove to Wendy anymore. 

"How much is everything all together?" James asked without minding Wendy's initial insults.

"You penniless moron has no money to pay. I'm sure you have only succeeded in wasting this young lady's time." The assistant who knew for how long James had been in the mall decided to intervene. 

"$250,000" the male sales rep after checking said while wondering where on earth a beggar like James could afford such an amount.

"Hahaha. I'm sure he doesn't have up to 250 dollars on him. You better call the security to throw this clown out of this place. A stinky rug like him don't belong to a place like this." Alex mocked.

Immediately James brought his golden card, handing it over to Nancy. She immediately turned around to get the machine. James can't wait to put Wendy to shame. Because he doesn't know why she is hell bent on making his life a miserable one even after divorcing her.

Nancy arrived back just after a minute and inserted the card in the machine. She inputs the amount and immediately the machine blinks red.

"It declined! Didn't it?"' Alex laughed out loud attracting the passersby's attention.

"I told you. Didn't I … .hahahahaha" Wendy and Alex just have the perfect opportunity to make James' life miserable. This time around there are more people gathered around them witnessing the drama going on.

In the blink of an eye, alot of people had gathered around James and Wendy. Meanwhile, Nancy was pissed that after all the effort she had put in, James didn't have a single penny to shop.

James on the other hand was sure there is a problem with the machine and insisted the sales rep give it a second trial.

 Nancy's partner, who can't wait to throw James out of the store, quickly gave it a second trial.

"Beep.. Beep.. Beep." The machine sounded before turning red again!
