An Exchange with a Rival
Damien’s blood was boiling as he walked back to their cottage. He had to clear his head after facing Clarissa again. What pissed him off was how the woman looked at him as if trying to seek pity from him, but none could piss him even more when he actually did feel pity towards her.

As he briskly made his way back to the cottage, another person stops him. Blocking his way was Richard, his eyes scornful at Damien. Damien raised his eyebrows at the male, not backing down. Noel stepped in front of them, not wanting the two to start a fight.

Their narrow, deadly stares were threatening. They were like dynamites, ready to explode at any second. Their fists clenched in balls. Damien gracefully slipped his hands into his pockets and initiated the conversation.

“Looking for your wife?”

“You talked to her?”

“She’s at the bar. I would love to suggest you comfort her, but since you’re the very reason why she’s acting sad, I’ll suggest it to someone else.”

“No. I’ll talk to my wife.”
