An Eye in the North

Damien exited the room to follow the man. His other bodyguard looked the hallway to the right while Damien took the one from the left. Walking briskly, he roamed across the halls of the dimly lit hospital corridors. Slipping his hands inside the pockets of his trench coat, he strode calmly– eyed fixated on the entrance to the emergency stairs.

Damien reached the door. Saw the shadow silhouette against the wall when he opened the door, and bolted. Damien was quick to trail after the man. He could hear his footsteps smacking against the ground repetitively, and he knew he just had to chase him.

The man ran with his life. Damien sprinted after him. However, the man was not in luck. He had descended deeper into the hospital and found himself at a dead end. He tried to shake the padlocked door that would lead him to the corridor of the first floor, but it would not let him.

Meanwhile, Damien walked very, very slowly down the stairs and the stranger knew he was doomed forever.
