Spite

Upon realizing that she had kissed her, Damien had no choice but to back away. Ash was shocked too, not being able to process what he had just done. But the girl didn't protest, rather she looked at him with disbelief in her eyes. Damien covered his lower face with his huge palm, took a few steps away, and then left— ashamed of himself.

“I’m sorry.” Damien palmed her face. “Could you please get out of the room for a moment? I need to rest. The drug’s too strong.”

Ash could only nod and her cheeks were flushed in a deep shade of red. Did he imagine it? He couldn’t tell. All he knew was that Ash was shy after he had kissed her. When the woman left the room, Damien closed the door and leaned against it while hitting her forehead with his wrist a couple of times.

“Shit. What did I just do?”

The next morning, Damien felt sicker than ever that he couldn’t even get out of bed. Whatever drug Clarissa gave him, Damien was going to make sure that she goes to prison for doing that.
