Sean stiffened for a moment when he felt Rebecca's lips on his. He was taken by surprise at her forward reaction but then he was tired of always feeling alone, betrayed by everybody he met.For once in his life, he wanted to be selfish and capitulate on his emotions.Seizing her upper arms, Sean slanted his lips over hers kissing her deeply. Conscious of the mirrors, he tried to keep it PG but Rebecca wasn't having it, practically devouring his lips.Biting down on her plump lips, he gripped her chin in a firm hold roaming his hands up and down his body. She moaned, sneaking her hand underneath his shirt. The skin-on-skin contact drove him wild and all his restrictions flew out the window.Shoving her up against the nearest flat surface roughly, he seized both hands in one moving his mouth to her neck.Hesitating, he drew back to look at her. “Are you sure that you want this?”Rebecca's eyes were filled with hunger and she snaked a hand around his neck. “You having second thoughts?”
Standing the freezing cold, Chloe looked left and right for any sign of Luke. His car wasn't here yet. Rolling her palms together to ward off the cold, she took a quick glance at her watch biting her lower lip.Twenty minutes late.“Chloe!” she heard him yell from down the street, waving his hands like a madman. He had on a leather jacket and a longer coat that reached his legs and a fitted jean that molded the shape of his thighs. To finish off the look, loafers donned his feet. Jumping out of his car midway, he raced to get to her wrapping his hands around her.“I'm so sorry I'm late, the car broke down on my way here.” He apologized, rubbing his arms over hers. “Hope you aren't pissed off?”Actually, she was but Luke looked so torn up over it that she decided to let it go. “It's fine. I would like to get out of the cold though.”He practically carried her into his car, cranking the heat up to the highest.Chloe slowly felt the cold ebb away and she could slowly feel that she was re
Chloe went through the crowd, desperately needing to be away from everyone. She could feel Luke behind her but that only spurred her on to move faster. The DJ had on a fast tune which had everyone moving their bodies to the best, making it harder to cut through the mesh of bodies.Spying a red door on the other side of the room, about twenty feet away Chloe hurried over pushing it open.It led to an alley behind the club and her surprise was relatively clean. The cold evening air whipped at her skin, reminding her how the flimsy outfit she had on. A glance at her back showed her that Luke wasn't at her heels anymore, giving her to chance to breathe.Gulping in fresh air like her lungs would collapse if she didn't, Chloe kept an eye out for strangers while she leaned on the brick wall.“You're Chloe right?” A woman's voice a couple of feet from her reached Chloe's ears. “That famous guy's ex-girlfriend?”“Fiancee.” She felt the need to correct the girl even though the last thing she wa
Chloe avoided all contact with Luke after that disaster of an outing the other day, staying holed up in the house until Maeve grew sick of her.Chloe could hear the sigh from a mile away before Maeve plopped her ass on the chair next to her.“Okay, what the hell is going on?”Chloe had the clueless look down to an art form. “What do you mean?”“Don't you pretend to not know what I'm talking about, young lady!” Maeve said in a mock stern manner. It was such a good imitation of her that Chloe burst out laughing, the sound effectively dissolving the tension. “Now, that was a good one.”“Don't try to change the subject, Chlo.” She gave her a pointed look. “Luke has been blowing up my phone for the last couple of hours, saying that you're not picking up his calls.”Uh-oh, that was exactly what I was afraid of.“Maeve…” Chloe drew her name out.“I know it's none of my business but the poor guy's in love with you!” Maeve exclaimed. “He trails about you like a lovesick puppy, and you don't ev
“Hey.” Chloe greeted, sliding into the booth.Amber slurped her drink greedily. “I honestly thought you weren't going to show up.”“Why? I was the one who reached out to you.”She shrugged. “Stranger things have happened.”A middle-aged woman with salt and pepper hair approached them then, clutching a battered-looking notepad. “What can I get you? That's if…you're ready to order.”Amber looked at her. Chloe picked up the menu, scanning the available dishes. Nothing appealed to her, besides her stomach wasn't settled enough for her to eat anything. “I'll get the chocolate milkshake, and maybe a bagel?”The lady turned to Amber with a questioning look. Amber raised her glass which had a red-looking drink in it. “I'll have some more Bloody Marys, please.”“Why here?” Chloe asked, looking around. “I would have expected something more high-end from you.”“This place belongs to a long-lost cousin of mine, although it was badly run down a couple of years ago before he reached out to my fathe
How could you be that foolish? Rebecca berated herself, stalking through the suite until she was in the hallway. She kept walking until she left the hotel and farther down until she saw a bar.Thinking it was a good idea to drown her sorrows in alcohol, she walked to the bar climbing on the nearest stool. “I'll have whatever's strong enough to knock me out please.” She told the bartender who only shrugged, probably seeing people like her come in every night.Rebecca groaned, dropping her head onto the hard granite counter with a thunk. It's pretty depressing that Sean wasn't even bothered enough to chase after her with an apology.“Your drink, ma'am.” The bartender spoke and she raised her head. He slid a tall glass filled with a peach-colored liquid and an umbrella at the top.She raised an inquiring brow at him. “What's this?”“Beach City or that's what the folks around here like to call it anyway.” He told her before his attention was diverted by other patrons.Rebecca examined he
Sean ran his hands through his carefully styled hair, sending it in different directions. Pacing up and down, he tried to find a way to calm down but with each passing moment, his heartbeat skyrocketed. Finally, the doctor came out, his face morose. Sean rushed over to him. “Hey doc, how is she? Any improvements yet?”The man's stoic expression didn't change. “She's stable for now, I did the best that I could to treat her with the limited equipment available.”Before he could what Sean knew he was about to say, Sean shook his head. “I'm sorry but I prefer she be treated here, doc.”The man shrugged. “That's entirely up to you. I do have some medications she's going to need when she comes out of it. The worst is her head and a gash in her upper thigh and feet but since I've treated it, she should be fine.”Sean bobbed his head slowly, taking in the information. “I'm just glad I got to her in time.”The doc didn't respond, busy arranging his things inside his bag to cart it off but not
Chloe rubbed her mittens together, burrowing her hands deep into her coat. Glancing over her shoulder, she shifted impatiently from foot to foot waiting for someone to answer her.She checked her wristwatch.Twenty minutes had gone by.Maybe this was a fucking mistake, Chloe thought chewing on her lower lip. Waiting for one more minute, when she didn't get a response Chloe walked away from the gate but she didn't get past five steps before she stomped back, jabbing the doorbell repeatedly.“For shit's sake, fucking answer me!” She cursed under her breath. As if the gate heard it, it moved a bit and she jumped away until the gate pulled to the side, enough for an old man's face to peer through. He squinted at her, trying to make out her features. “Who are you?!”Chloe's brain froze up for a moment before she remembered. “U-uh, my name is Chloe. Chloe Waters.” She chose her middle name in case of anything. Standing on tiptoe, she tried to crane her neck to get a good view into the house
