Hadley was wise enough not to poke the sleeping bear farther than he could handle, and he retreated glancing down in submission.

“Why did you do it?” Sean asked, curious as to what would drive him so far to siphon such huge amounts.

“I don't have to answer you.” Hadley spat, defiance in his eyes.

Sean put back a smile. “You think so?”

He nods, dumbly following what Sean says. “Yes. Even if it is true that you're the Lambert heir and owner of the company, I think you don't deserve it.”

Each word was aimed to hit him at the lowest point. Sean's icy facade threatened to crack but he stomped down on his feelings.

“Whoever entrusted something so priceless into your hands must be a fool!” Hadley was still talking, driving a wedge between Sean's beliefs.

“That's enough!” Sean yelled, his hand raised to punch Hadley.

Using every ounce of willpower he had, Sean held back from punching him, his hands hovering a couple of inches above Hadley's face.
