Sudden rage filled Clement's heart when he saw his mother smiling at Sean. “So is that it? You come in here and announce that Sean is my brother and I'm just supposed to accept it and sing kumbaya around bonfires?!”

“Clement, calm down.” Sean said with authority but Clement was far beyond listening to anyone.

“No! I'm not going to listen to anyone, sure as hell not you!” He spat. “You're never going to be my brother, you know why?”

“Why?” Sean humored him, taking the heat off Moriah.

“Because you're competition.” He replied, pacing around the office. Clement adopted a casual tone, pretending to gain interest in things as he walked past them. “You see, I was living just fine before you came along, and fucked everything up! Because at the end of the day Mom likes you a lot more than she likes me, meaning the company's going to go to you and I don't want to be around here to watch that.”
