Every day, the number of unemployed citizens increased, causing the crime rate to rise as well. And the cost of basic necessities continued to rise, while newly discovered diseases spread quickly.

Despite this, only the underprivileged were affected, while the rich and billionaires continued to gain power and wealth.

Jake returned to his office with Sebastian. He hadn't even sat down when a tanned-skin woman dressed in formal office attire walked in and told him he had a meeting in five minutes.

“Can we postpone that? It’s already late,” he said.

The woman bowed before answering. “I am sorry, Young master. But this is urgent. The president and the board are expecting you there.”

“Is that so? Alright. I’ll be there. I just need to wind up a bit,” he replied with a sigh. Then the woman bowed again, went out, and closed the door gently.

“Maybe It’s about the inflation,” Sebastian suddenly said. “It has been affecting us since the beginning of the year and this month is the worst.”
