Chapter 48

Orion burst out laughing. He then moved his burning right hand closer to Carmilla's head. The fire began to burn Carmilla's hair, and he closed his eyes as he sniffed the smoke.

Carmilla tried to move, but she couldn’t even flinch.

“The smell of burning hair is really addictive,” the man said while smiling. “But do you know what’s more addictive? The smell of burning bodies and the scream of the one on fire."

Carmilla’s tears started to fall as she still tried to move her body.

“Stop it! I am the one who brought her here. Just punish me and let her go,” Aaron butted in.

Orion turned his gaze towards him. “What? You think I’m stupid? I’ll let her go, and then she will tell Archris about this. Then Archris will tell Jake Drummond about this. No, you won’t go anywhere.”

Aaron sighed and glared at the man. He knew that there was only one way for them to escape, and that was for Zark to dispel the binding magic used on them. But he couldn’t see Zark upstairs.
