Chapter 66

Jake slowly opened his eyes. He was lying on a wet floor, and he saw a pitch-black sky. He could feel his heart pounding hard, and he could hear screams of pain, agony, and help. He slowly sat up, and his heartbeat became faster and louder.

He looked around, but he didn't see anything aside from the non-ending shallow water where he was. However, his shirt and trousers showed no trace of being wet. He rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn’t only seeing things.

He groaned as he stood up. He suddenly felt sharp pain all over his body, and that made him kneel back to the ground.

“What happened? What is this place?” he asked himself. “Who brought me here? Did I die already?”

Then a powerful cold wind blew, knocking him to the wet ground. Then he flinched when he sensed something behind him.

He jolted forward on all fours before turning his head. And what he saw there made him pause for a while.
