2. Gambler Job

Indeed, Bonnie managed to stop Clyde dead on his track with her remark. But she was still unsure of his response.

“A Gambler, you said?” asked Clyde with a disbelief look, followed by childlike nods from Bonnie. She genuinely thought that it was a brilliant idea before it was shot down mercilessly by Clyde.

“An upstanding morally-correct model citizen like me? Gambling?” continued Clyde. “Bonnie, I thought you were my friend. What kind of friend who will throw their own friend to the abyss of spiraling uncertainty?”

“Uh, but financially this will be your best option?”

“Alright, I’m sold!” cut Clyde suddenly before choosing Gambler as his Main Class.

Bonnie could just gape her mouth to witness yet another sudden, unexpected turn of events, even thought it wasn’t deviated away from her initial intention.

“What’s wrong? Don’t look at me like I’m some kind of hypocrite. I don’t have a feud with money, I just don’t like to show up to work for it!”

“You’re just telling me you’re lazy in a sophisticated way,” concluded Bonnie.

No response from Clyde. Just a meaningful gaze, piercing through Bonnie’s soul, intended for God knows what meaning he wanted to convey.

"Now, after loging in, input your address so they can deliver your in game bracelet." Bonnie continued.

"What bracelet?" asked Clyde.

"That's the device which will transport the player to game world instantly."

While waiting for the device that supposed to arrive just in a couple of minutes, Bonnie taught Clyde how the game works.

When Clyde finally get a grasp of how to play Revlogia Online, a sudden knock on his door made him jump out in anticipation.

A delivery man came with a small box and asked Clyde to pay for the device. Clyde who's peniless, instantly look at Bonnie with a helpless gaze.

Bonnie shakes her head then pay for it unwillingly.

"You didn't tell me it'll cost money!" screamed Clyde.

"Duh, you think?" Bonnie rolled her eyes.

“Anyway, who am I to judge? I’m also a fool for money. Plus, the faster you have money the faster I will have my money back, right?”

“Right?” Bonnie tried to reaffirm her standpoint, worried that perhaps the debt wasn’t considered as priority by Clyde.

Clyde didn't answer Bonnie's question. He immediately wear his bracelet and operating it like how Bonnie taught him before.

With a single tap on his bracelet, Clyde just poofed out of Bonnie’s sight, escaping that interrogation session to the virtual world. But a short moment later, Bonnie also appeared in front of him, demanding explanation about the rude parting she was just treated.

“Clyde, why did you leave as soon as I mentioned your debt? Trying to run away from your responsibility, huh?” accused Bonnie, dressed in her in-game attire.

“Uh, I just got so excited to try it out that I ended up logging in, teehee,” evaded Clyde while scratching his head. “Anyway, while we’re at it, why don’t you be a sweety and show me around?”

Bonnie had all the right to be mad and unleashed her fury towards Clyde, but realizing that it was Clyde she was dealing with, she chose to let this one slide.

“You’re lucky we grew up together, you freak,” scoffed Bonnie lightly with a defeated smile, strolling through the scenery to open her tour to her newcomer friend. “When we log in to the game, the default arrival point will be this HELP guild. Along the way, you will explore the map and will have more access to other places.”

“Great, but can we skip to the different part you mentioned before?” interrupted Clyde. “Something about income, if I remember correctly?”

“Impatient, aren’t we?” giggled Bonnie. “But I’m glad you asked. You see, in your ordinary game, you will sell the stuff offline, right? Using the real world money?”

Clyde nodded to show his agreement and impatience at once.

“Here in Revlogia Online, we can just sell it online and convert it back to our real world money instantly! Isn’t that exciting?” continued Bonnie. “The price is much more stable that way and occasionally they hold auctions as well!”

“Well, I was hoping it would be more, but beggars can’t be choosers, I suppose,” sighed Clyde in half-disappointed tone. “Mind explaining the financial advantage of Gambler Class to make up for it?”

Bonnie puffed her chest in pride as she started to turn her body around to face Clyde.

“You’re talking to the right person, because I am a Gambler myself!” She tapped her chest triumphantly. “See, it’s all about probability. Us Gamblers are specialized in manipulating the situation in our favor, only if we succeed in our roll, though.”

“Roll? What do you mean?” asked Clyde curiously.

“Ah, that’s right. I forgot to mention that when we choose a Class and log in, we will be bestowed the default equipment specific to that mentioned Class. For example, Knight will be given sword, Thief will be given dagger, Mage will receive wand, you know the drill. In our case, it will be dice.”

Bonnie opened up her Screen and checked her inventory to select her item. Soon after, a 6-sided dice manifested, with white panels and red dots to represent the numbers on each side of it, floating on top of her palms. Clyde then try to copy what Bonnie taught him.

[1X ROULETTE BOARD]

“Now that you mention it, I have nothing in me but this ... uh, Roulette?” responded Clyde while tapping the only item in his inventory slots. A big round board with black and red panels appeared in front of him, but it seemed that he was the only one who could see it as Bonnie was confused to see Clyde meddling with his new feature.

“Roulette? That’s weird. I know some other Gamblers, but none of them got anything other than Dice,” wondered Bonnie in bewilderment. “But I believe it has the same concept with dices, so you should be good.”

“There’s no clear instruction about this, ugh. It’s better just to try it out in the open, then,” decided Clyde. “Bonnie, I’m good to go, right? I want to see how it fares in the real quest.”

“Another minor detail, young man. In Revlogia Online, you are not allowed to venture all by yourself,” stated Bonnie.

“Okay, no biggie. Come with me,” invited Clyde, only to be turned down by Bonnie, shaking her head in response.

“I would if I could, but since I’ve been registered in another team already, I will be violating the regulation if I stick with you,” argued Bonnie. “Let’s just go to the Guild. There will always be people who are looking for someone to fill in their gaps.”

Bonnie continued to walk while pulling Clyde’s arm with him. Just straight down the road, their steps stopped in front of a wooden building with loud noises coming from inside.

“Let’s go, don’t mind the crowd. They’re a rowdy bunch, that’s all,” explained Bonnie after she stepped inside the guild.

“What we come here for is that baby right there in the corner.” Bonnie continued while pointing at the bulletin board on the corner of the guild.
