7. Unfairness

Leon’s fiery finisher had gloriously taken the mighty canine down. The carcass of Alpha Fenrir was still burning so rigorously, before magically disappeared with a poof. The game system censored the gore part, it seemed.

“Is it over?” asked Lucielle, breaking the silence. “Can I hooray now?”

Nobody answered. They were overtaken by the sheer pressure of the dungeon master that still lingered, despite the vanishing of it.

[REWARD: 1X FENRIR MEAT, 1X BLUE CRYSTAL, 1X FENRIR BONE, 1X ELIXIR, 1X FENRIR FUR]

The giant notification panel that appeared before them had come as their answer.

“HOORAYYY!!”

Lucielle screamed her joy and jumping about while doing so. Ralph dropped his ass on the ground, exhausted after the strength contest. Leon was as exhausted as Ralph after putting all that he had on the finishing blow, but still managed to stand, despite his heavy breathing.

“Mr. Gambler, we did it!” expressed Lottie gleefully while approaching Clyde with her radiant smile. “It’s all thanks to you!”

“Don’t mention it, Lolo. I was just being lucky, that’s all,” replied Clyde, acting low profile to further accelerate his cool points. “It was Mr. Leader there who finished the big Fenrir, after all.”

“Damn right, I am!” shouted Leon, who still had the energy to rebuke Lottie’s opinion. “That Gambler just strolled in and acting like he was the mastermind of our success, while in reality he just looked down at us!”

Lottie shrank in fear to hear Leon’s furious statement. She felt guilty for sparking yet another debate in between the Knight and Clyde.

“Now, now, sweetheart, let’s get that behind us. We all witnessed who struck down the dungeon master,” Lucielle calmed down his boyfriend. “Unlike that scantily clad bitch who got wooed by the suspicious Gambler.”

“That’s right, Leader! Let’s just focus on getting out of here and distribute the remaining meats, uh, I mean the loots we obtained from this dungeon!” persuaded Ralph whose motive was divided in two, to get his precious meat and to protect his crush from escalating accusation.

Leon just grunted angrily while collecting the rewards into his inventory. In just a flash, they were instantly teleported to the place they came in.

“Alright, fellas. Like usual, apart from the individual items we obtained from obliterating the small fries, we will divide the loots among us equally and fairly,” said Leon, cutting to the chase. “The rewards we have are Fenrir Meat, Fenrir Bone, Blue Crystal, Elixir, and Fenrir Fur.”

“Leader, I volunteer to receive Fenrir Meat!” declared Ralph who got the drool on his mouth since forever.

“Sigh, I have guessed so. That is approved,” judged Leon. “Lucielle and Lottie respectively will earn Fenrir Fur and Fenrir Bone, while I will get the Blue Crystal and Elixir.”

“Thanks, darling! How do you know I’ve been in love with that beast’s glistening fur since I set my eyes on it?” cheered Lucielle, hugging Leon tightly. “You’re like the best boyfriend ever!”

Clyde who remained silent throughout the course of event at last opened up his mouth to voice out what was in his head.

“Coming from a newbie, I apologize in advance. But I have two objections that I want to express,” stated Clyde. “First, I don’t know too much about this party’s distribution system, but it was Lolo who got the Blue Crystal, so why do you keep it to yourself?”

Leon’s once calm expression had changed. Wrath was clearly expressed from his face to hear the insolent remark of Clyde. Lottie who didn’t expect Clyde’s defense at all went panic, but that didn’t stop Clyde to keep blabbering.

“Second, there are 5 items obtained from our battle. I don’t see any reason why do you get to keep 2 of them when we clearly are able to distribute it equally. Didn’t you say so previously?” objected Clyde further. “That will leave one person, which is yours truly, to be itemless!”

Unable to keep his cool no more, Leon walked towards Clyde closer to get his points across.

“My words are law here, and my decision is final!” blurted Leon in a fit of rage. “I judged based on the member’s contribution and as far as I can see, you were not that significant! Lottie was good, but not good enough to earn Blue Crystal! If you don’t like what I decided, then you’re free to leave!”

Realizing that it was of no use to continue this debate, Clyde finally stepped down and accepted the outcome.

“Fine, I had no idea that this leader’s team was a communist. I have only myself to blame for not properly researching it before,” mumbled Clyde.

“What did you say?” asked Leon who caught a little bit of what Clyde said, only to be ignored by the Gambler.

“Don’t waste your time on that hopeless swindler, honey,” persuaded Lucielle. “Let’s just go back to the real world.”

Though still unsatisfied, Leon obeyed his girlfriend. Shortly, they were already in the bustling guild of HELP.

“We part ways here, until our next mission,” said Leon before he finally left with Lucielle. Ralph had already gone somewhere without any parting words.

“Um, Mr. Gambler? You can have this as a token of my thanks,” said Lottie while handing over her Fenrir Bone. “I felt sorry for the way you were being treated, despite how influential you were to our team, so I think you deserve a reward more than me.”

“Lolo, you’re a nice girl, but I don’t want this from you,” refused Clyde gently. “Wait, is that a four leaf clover?

Clyde reached out to Lottie’s breasts, where the four leaf clover was located.

“Oh this? Yeah, I accidentally stole it together with the Blue Crystal, but it didn’t seem to be registered in the system, though,” replied Lottie.

“Can I have that, instead?”

“Uhm, I don’t mind, but are you sure? This doesn’t seem to be useful, I think,”

“Oh, it is for me,” smirked Clyde while grabbing that clover away while squeezing the soft part of Lotti’'s body in the process. The clueless Thief really didn’t know that Clyde was just another Ralph, but far smoother.

The entire guild went amok to hear that sudden announcement. There had been rumors circulating, but the official confirmation just now had ignited the morale of the players, sending the whole place to run amok.

At the same time, a message from Leon came into the menu panel of Clyde and Lottie.
