Chapter 33: 1 against 100 (Rex last stand)

Rex, with his car light switched off in order not to expose himself drove carefully, lest he crashed into a tree.

He couldn't help but sigh in frustration as the tall tree canopy was obstructing the moonlight from reflecting down and the car's engine was making heavy noise which might easily expose him.

_Driving in the middle of the night, especially in an area devoid of light and civilization, is not a pleasant experience._ This thought crossed his mind as he sat in the car, contemplating his next move.

Eventually, he decided to take matters into his own hands. He got out of the car, grabbing the backpack containing bottled water and biscuits that he had found inside the car. Hanging it on his back, he then proceeded to gather a pistol and the remaining grenade from the vehicle, along with a knife he found inside.

Feeling somewhat better prepared, he set out into the darkness, determined to find another way out.
