Leo’s body tensed as the truck collided with their car.

Time seemed to slow down as the car spun violently, his grip on the wheel tight. He desperately tried to steer them out of harm’s way, but the impact was too strong.

Metal crunched, and the car jerked wildly before slamming into the thick trunk of an old tree with a deafening thud.

For a moment, everything went silent. Leo's vision blurred as the adrenaline surged through him. He shook his head, clearing the fog, and turned to Jessica. She was dazed but conscious, clutching her seatbelt with white knuckles.

"Jess, are you okay?" Leo asked, his voice rough with urgency.

Jessica blinked, her eyes wide with shock, but she nodded. "I think so... Leo, what just happened?"

"No time to explain." He unbuckled her seatbelt quickly, glancing in the rearview mirror. The truck had skidded to a halt a few meters behind them, and shadowy figures were starting to emerge from it, goons, armed and ready.
