CHAPTER FIFTY - SIX

His hand was shaky as he tried to reach out for her hand. She made it easy for him to hold her by bringing her hand closer to hold him. His voice was very low as he spoke to her.

"Vivian, she could barely hear him; she strained her ears and listened to every word that came out of his mouth so she could hear and understand clearly.

"Vivian, I am so proud of the woman you've become. You are strong and wise. I want you to never forget that I love you. We've truly been through a lot together. I remember when you were a little girl. I took you to the ice cream shop, and it began to rain. 'Daddy, I am cold. With your little voice, I took off my new coat and covered you with it, and you slept off on my chest. You slept till the rain was over'. I pray I get strong again so I can walk with my grandson and also take him to the ice cream shop, just as I did with his mom. I love y'all, and I want your mom to be strong. I want her to know I love her so much. I want Darwin to become the man I have
