Chapter 8

The man looked at him fiercely. He stared intently at Richard. "You'd better stay out of my business." The big man named Jacob stared fixedly at Richard, who was trying to defend the servant from Jacob's lousy behavior.

Richard did not hesitate to stare at Jacob's eyes, which were staring fixedly at him with a look filled with distaste. Realizing the situation was becoming more complicated because of his mistake, the waiter tried to interrupt him.

He looked frightened, looking at Jacob hesitantly. "I'm sorry, sir." He pleaded. "I'll clean it up right away-"

"It's too late, there's no point." Jacob cut off the waiter's speech and made him jerk in place. He approached, extended his hand towards the man's head that was about to move, and pressed it. "How dare you ignore me when I speak! Are you looking down on me? Who do you think you are, huh!" he snapped at him loudly.

"Argh... sir." The waiter groaned. He whimpered in pain from the pressure on his head that made him forcefully look down. He, who was originally about to get up, had difficulty moving, finding the grip and pressure on his head he could only squirm. "Sir, please let me go, forgive me. I'll clean it up right away," he said in succession, sounding pathetic and making the other guests' gazes turn towards them.

The people around began to whisper and were annoyed by it, but they didn't take action, while Jhonas got up from his place in shock. Jhonas was disturbed by what Jacob was doing, but Richard held back his hand, stopping Jhonas from taking action. Richard silently watched, seeing how far Jacob would go.

Jacob turned his gaze towards them sharply. "I'm a loyal customer of this place." He seemed to emphasize it not only to the waiter but also to Richard and Jhonas. He then lowered his gaze. "So, shouldn't you treat me well? Respectfully?" he threw his gaze at Richard fiercely and arrogantly.

He did not accept the treatment of the waiter who first noticed the condition of Richard and Jhonas, who were not even on the same level as him, rather than paying attention to him first. Jacob also felt insulted by Richard's treatment, who dared to look at him like he was superior to him.

Not wanting to let them succeed in hurting his ego, Jacob turned his gaze towards Richard and Jhonas with an appraising look, looking at Jhonas' clothes, which he thought were shabby and inappropriate. He then smiled. "A rich man like me should be treated well by everyone, including those two because I look better than those shabby-looking hobos." The man smiled fiercely, feeling proud of himself.

While he was beside her, the woman beside him laughed. He then nodded his head. "Right, they're annoying." The woman looked at the waiter as well as Richard and Jhonas with annoyance. "These poor people are annoying indeed, not knowing their place. "Because of them, I'm having a bad day. Just watch me ask for compensation for what I'm going through right now!" she looked sharply.

"Miss, please don't do it." The waiter pleaded. He clasped his hands together, knelt, and begged for understanding. "Don't do it. I'm new to this place, and it's hard for me to find a job." He asked for sympathy from the woman still under pressure from Jacob, who was staring at him fiercely.

The woman snorted, moving her eyes downward with a condescending look. She did not sympathize with him and was not moved by his words. Instead, she shook her hand away from the man pleading with her.

Her eyes stared in disgust as her hands were touched. "What are you doing? How dare you touch me!" she screamed like a person who lost her mind just because of a touch that didn't even hurt her. Then, she looked at him contemptuously as if looking at a cockroach before her. "If you don't want to get into trouble with your job, you should behave yourself! Poor people are so uncivilized!"

Jhonas came forward, his eyes glaring fiercely at the woman. He could no longer stand the woman's arbitrary behavior with the servant, especially her words that continued to call him poor, which made him really angry. "Stop it. Why are you making such a fuss over such a small matter? He didn't do anything bad." Remembering that the ones who got splashed more were himself and Richard. "You just got a little splash of water, and it's not a problem."

Jhonas sympathized with the servant. Just like him, Jhonas knew how hard it was to survive and get a job. He couldn't see the maid lowering herself like that in front of them.

The woman stared dumbfounded at Jhonas. "What did you say, just water?" He gritted his teeth tightly. "Do you know how much the clothes I'm wearing cost? Do you know where my clothes come from?" She looked at him fiercely and then at Jhonas' clothes.

Then she laughed out loud, averted her gaze, and looked back at Jhonas contemptuously. "Of course, you don't know because you're only wearing shabby clothes that aren't even better than my doormat." She arrogantly said that in front of Jhonas and made Jhonas clench her hands in shame. "Unlike you, my clothes cost five thousand dollars just for the top, three thousand dollars just for the scarf, and if you add it up, it can reach a dozen dollars. I bet you don't even have that much money."

Richard looked at Jhonas, who was infuriated by the woman's words, then turning back to the servant, he quickly moved his hand and pulled the servant to his side in a standing position. "Are you okay?" asked Richard to make sure and made the men turn to him.

Richar had had enough of them, enough of listening to the nonsense of their arrogance that wasn't even worthwhile in front of him.

The trembling-looking maid nodded in front of Richard, who asked her about her situation and treated her like an ordinary human being, not a lowly human being like Jacob saw her.

But Richard's actions made Jacob, who wanted to teach the waitress a lesson, including Richard and Jhonas, annoyed. He then looked to the side, towards the table, grabbed a glass of water, and poured it on Richard.

"Hey, what are you doing!" exclaimed Jhonas, frantically realizing the water of Jhonas' actions.

Luckily, Richard moved quickly so that he could avoid the water. Richard then looked at the man coldly. He could no longer tolerate his childish actions.

The man glared at him fiercely. "Your clothes look cheap, so it doesn't matter if they get wet." He did not feel guilty about his actions at all.

Richard, who had tilted his body to avoid earlier, turned around and faced straight at the man. "A single suit of clothes I wear costs at least millions, far more than the thousands of dollars you paid." He replied with eyes that stared coldly and confidently at them.
