Smith scanned the group of men's faces and was ready to turn his body towards them. "Let me face the master," he said.

Hearing how Smith called Richard made Dave stare frantically at his situation. He didn't expect to find a figure he recognized while taking down his target. This was beyond his prediction.

Dave's memories of the man returned to when he first met Smith. Smith had been at odds with him over a job he was doing at one of the places.
