The whole office turned silent as Genie’s eyes widened in shock. She covered her mouth while shaking her head in disbelief. And then she went ahead to argue with Rico.

“Mr. Rico…” She whispered at first, “I think you are mistaken. That boy doesn't even look like a director, not to talk of a CEO.”

“Are you making this up?”

Rico looked at her with a look of disdain, but then he shook his head. He didn't have the time or patience to explain himself to her so, he walked forward, pushing Shawn out of the way to get to Chirs.

“Are you out of your mind? I said let him go.” He barked.

The men immediately let Chris go and he stood there, dusting his hand with a calm expression.

“I'm sorry, Young Master. They must have been mistaken. This won’t repeat itself again.” Rico immediately bowed, and dread was starting to fill his body seeing the way Chris was so calm.

Immediately, Rico turned to Genie, “Get over here and apologize!”

Genie was flustered, her eyes turned pale and red simultaneous

A loud series of gasps echoed in the meeting room as Dan looked at Chris in shock. Every other director present was also in shock because that task was unimaginable! “Mr. CEO, I am afraid... That is too much.” Dan roamed his eyes around the meeting room to see no one was standing up for him and he started to shake. How could he bring in 20% of the annual income alone? He wasn't even part of the Sales Department! There was no way he could do that and seeing this, the directors knew not to joke with Chris!“I'm afraid you are not competent, then. If you can open your mouth to insult others, then you should really have a lot working for you upstairs.” Chris pointed at his temple with a smirk. He may be young but then, he was vengeful. “But…” Dan was already sweating and his face had gone pale. “So, will you do it or not?” Chris wasn't fazed. “Remember, if you refuse, you will have to step down from your position. And if you do not meet my conditions for the task, you will be fired!”

Chris and Ria now stood behind Rico who had a calm look on his face. However, he didn't seem fazed or fearful of Genie’s expression. “And what about them?” He raised his brows.“They–”Butler Rico interrupted her quickly, “Miss Genie, I suggest you leave. Otherwise, you will not only be tied down, you will be taken to the worst place you could ever imagine. And trust me, the Reds wouldn't even be able to save you.”His eyes were no longer calm, they held a certain look of dread and warning. “What?” She frowned, but seeing Rico’s look, she knew not to keep talking. She turned around, storming past the men while she yelled, “This is not over yet!”On the other end, Rico frowned and turned to the men, “You both should take Miss Ria back to the mansion, the Young Master and I have to be somewhere.” “What?” Ria gasped as the men suddenly came to stand by her side, wanting to lead her to another car. “Why are you sending me away, Butler Rico? What is going on?” She started to question h

The drive to the unknown location continued as Chris sat back down, thinking deeply about his next course of action. He had nig even used a full day in country X and he was already being bombarded with responsibilities. He could already feel a splitting headache, one that would reoccur, every day. “Young Master, we have arrived.” He heard Rico’s voice and he looked out of the car’s window to see that they were driving on a dusty road with bushes surrounding everywhere. “This is the main hideout of the organization. The business we operate are scattered around the country but this is the powerhouse of it all.” As Rico spoke, he drove in front of a tall four-story building that had bright lights all over. However, he didn't stop at the entrance of the building, he drove to the back where three men were standing. They looked young but the seasoned and brutal expression they had on, showed that they weren't novices at all. “Welcome.” They bowed as soon as Chris and Rico stepped out.

They had all blocked all sorts of communication and he felt miserable. His heart was pounding in fear for Mia. He sat on his bed, trying to know what next to do when there was a knock on the door. Chris looked up to see that it was Rico and he stood up, seeing the deep frown on Rico’s face. “What’s wrong?” Chris asked. “Ria. Is she here?” Rico asked, looking all around the room. “No.” Chris shook his head. “Didn't she come home before us?”“Yes, she did. But I instructed the maids to go check on her and give her food and whatever she might need but she is nowhere i

Chris took a deep breath, as he watched Genie smirking at him, proudly. She seemed to have the upper hand because she had Ria with her and he couldn't fight her else Ria might get hurt. And with nothing else to do, he nodded at her. “Lead the way.” He gestured at her. “That’s what I thought, CEO.” She smiled, looking at Chris from top to bottom with a sassy look. But as soon as she turned around, he immediately took out his phone and started to text Rico. But at the same time, Genie turned around and directly slapped the phone off his hands. “No phones!” She yelled as his phone flew across the large clubhouse. It landed where he didn't even know and Chris glared angrily at her. “Are you out of your mind? What have you done?” He yelled, dragging the attention of some people around. He then swiped his fingers in his hair due to frustration and was about to lunge into the crowd of people to find his phone. But Genie was quick to stop him. “You don’t have much time left. Do you k

Chris realized that the masked man wanted to see him, not because there was a new revolution going on but because he wasn't threatened the slightest bit. He wanted to see just how weak Chris was and it pissed him off so bad. He took deep breaths, aiming to calm himself and soon he walked out of the private area and back into the elevator. This meeting with the masked man was sudden and Chris wondered if all this was planned because Ria appeared at the club or not. As he got out of the elevator, he walked mindlessly into the crowd of people, and just at this moment, he felt a tap on the back. His head snapped around with a sharp gaze, thinking it was Genie or someone else trying to play games on him. But then he saw that it was Ria. “Where have been?” She asked. However, Chris didn't bother to reply to her, he caught her by the hand and started to drag her out. Her feet stumbled against the crowd and his grip tightened as he walked. He was very angry at Ria, feeling like he got

The next morning… “When are we leaving today?” Chris asked as soon as Butler Rico walked into his room. “As soon as you are ready,” Rico said, still excited from last night's determination. “The Ricos are ready anytime.” “Get the car ready,” Chris instructed as he got into the bathroom, took a shower and soon he was done. By this time, Ria was already awake too, and as she saw that Chris and the butler were preparing to leave, she frowned. “Are you both going somewhere without me?” Ria asked, with a frown. “It’s the weekend. You don’t have to work overtime, why are you dressed like someone who has to leave for work?” Chris sighed, he never thought Ria would be such a hassle. “I have something to do at the office.” Chris lied. “Just stay home and we will be back soon.” He turned away from her before Ria could say anything. He nodded at the butler to lead the way and they both didn't see the angry expression on Ria’s face. She was vexed that they were leaving without her again,

That wasn't how he had planned this and he took a few moments to think, and seeing the way Ria was so resolute, he put his hand on the doorknob, wanting to open the door. “What are you doing?” Ria was shocked, immediately locking the door with the speed of light. “You have to get down, Miss Ria! I brought you here, shouldn't you be grateful?” Dan asked, glaring at her as he started to bang on the door. Ria started to panic, looking around to check if Chris was coming for her. She started to blame and chastise herself for following Dan to this

“How did it go?” Chris asked as he scrolled through a few documents on his phone. He was particularly concerned about how Mars had reacted to the order he gave. “We have nothing from him. After he left the meeting room, he disappeared.” Rico Axe said. “He just disappeared?” Chris raised a brow in question. “Yes!” Rico nodded. “Can you find more information on him? Something about him just ticks me off. His sudden appearance is suspicious.” Chris demanded, his gaze turning dim in thought. “Alright. I will do that.” Rico nodded. “Also, the police have requested your presence.” “Why?” Chris frowned. “Reid is yet to be found and they are asking if you can give them any information. They need you in for questioning tomorrow.”“Hmm…” Chris frowned, feeling like something was off. He didn't think Reid had the resources to hide so well but. He could decide to mobilize his men to look for Reid but it could interfere with the police work. However, on his end, Reid was a ticking time bom

  • Mars’ Dilemma

Mars stared at Walker Rice, hoping he would do something and say something on his behalf but that didn't happen. Walked joined Rico Axe in staring at him, waiting for him to leave. On the other hand, Mars knew he couldn't just leave, or else he would be in a lot of trouble. “Can you tell me why?” He asked Rico, trying to stay calm. “I can’t say, Mr. Mars. My job is to receive direct orders from my boss.” Rico shook his head, nonchalantly. Finally, his last resort, Mars looked at Walker, “Boss, do something.”Walker closed his eyes, torn between speaking up for Mars and just continuing the meeting. There was a lot at stake and he couldn't afford to offend Chris. So he said, “Maybe you should think about what you did. Chris wouldn't just do a thing like this. While you are out, reflect on your actions.”Mars was taken aback. He begged for the deal to be reinstated and a while ago, Walker was commending him and now, he was being treated like someone who had done wrong. In that mome

  • See Your Assistant Out

Chris was right in the car, staring curiously at Mars who kept banging his head on the hard floor. Even though he was dripping with blood down his head, Mars didn't stop. Also, Chris observed that his skin tore way too easily. He wasn't concerned about the self-harming Mars but he was incredibly curious. It seemed Mars was unpredictable. And as he looked out of the windscreen, with the lights shining on Mars’ face, it was as if Mars was looking back at him, with an eerie smile. Even though he was obviously in pain, Mars was smiling. But the most disturbing thing was that the car windows were tinted and there was no way Mars knew Chris was looking at him. He was just staring. Second by second, he looked even more unpredictable to Chris and irked him so much. If Chris wanted to, he could drive off and leave him to continue self-harming but he didn't do that. He stepped out of the car, his hands in his pockets as he approached Mars. “Do you want to die here?” Chris spoke up, standi

He wanted to raise his hand at Mars again but he held back, breathing heavily. “I am sorry.” Mars bowed his head slightly. “I didn't know what came over me. I misspoke.”“I don’t care if you misspoke! The only reason why you are here today is because my father asked me to take you along as my assistant!” “If he realizes you are trying to ruin this deal, he is going to do the unimaginable to you, do you understand?” Walker hinted at what could happen. His father was banking on this deal as well and a mere assistant couldn't just ruin it. “I am

  • Mars’ Extreme Reaction

The office went completely silent, as Chris looked straight at Mars. At the same time, Walker looked nervous and quickly sat up.“Don’t worry, Chris. I will do it. Mars here has an issue with talking and he won't be able to do it.” Walker rushed to get the proposal documents they had prepared. “Is that so?” Chris asked, looking at Mars intently and Mars never for once took his eyes off Chris too. It was like they had a staring contest which ticked Chris off the wrong way. “Hey, Mars!” Walker called, interrupting the staring competition. “Come help me.”Mars nodded before standing up and Chris was finally able to concentrate. However, through the proposal meeting, Mars was all quiet, silently giving everything Walker needed. And by the end of everything, he looked like a zombie, just moving around and being told what to do. Even though it wasn't an abnormal situation, Chris found it odd. “So, what do you think?” Walker asked, his eyes glistening with expectations. “It’s good. I wi

Five days later…Chris sat at his desk, right in the CEO’s office, however, he was staring into space. Too much time had passed and Baron was still being held in custody and the police was still looking for him. He had expected Gerald to reach out to him by now but nothing was happening. “Boss…” Rico Axe walked in, with a serious expression. “Is there any news from the Rice family?” He asked. “No.” Rico shook his head. “However, there is another important news.” Immediately, Chris perked up, raising his brows in question. “Mike was arrested after the evidence that was released but Reid is still nowhere to be found. His last location was a warehouse but we still cannot find him yet.” Rico Axe explained, looking a bit worried. “Really?” Chris raises his brows again. He had almost forgotten that people like Mike and Reid existed because he thought he was done with that chapter. He now recalled that Reid was supposed to pay him 36 million dollars because of the car he wrecked. “Did

“Master?” Reid scoffed, even though he was weak. He felt the masked man’s words before him were laughable and he struggled to sit up on the chair while still tied. He wiped the side of his face where blood was and continued to speak “Who still does master and servant in this day and age? You may be a minion to someone, but it doesn't mean–”Pak!That slap came unexpectedly and it swept Reid off the chair again. This time, the rope used to tie him broke and he became free. However, before he could even begin to escape, Gerald stepped forward. He had a rod in hand and in the next second, he swung it straight at his head. “Ahhh…” Reid gasped, his body shook in pain and he held his head. “You…” He couldn't speak anymore because as the second passed by, Gerald continued to hit him. Bang!Bang!!Continuous beatings resounded in the room and soon, Reid lay on the floor, almost lifeless. His body was bloodied and his eyes were dizzy. At that moment, Gerald took off his mask but Reid co

In the Rice family mansion…Chase was pacing up and down before the patriarch's study room and his gaze was filled with turmoil. He had no way of breaking the news to Gerald that something had gone wrong with Baron. The patriarch had given him a chance to live and prove himself before and now, he was afraid he was going to be gunned down immediately. “If you keep pacing out there, I will think you are hiding something from me, Chase.” Gerald’s voice rang out in the corridor and his head snapped up to look at the camera which was above the door. The patriarch could see every one of his movements and now, he realized he had no choice but to go in. And when he did, he walked carefully toward the partition in the study and he had to close his eyes in preparation for whatever he was going to see behind the partition. “My lord…” Chase went in with a bow and slowly looked up at Gerald. However, he was quick to look down again because the patriarch’s face looked unsightly, like dead skin

  • The Shareholders Saga

“Is there anyone else who wants to join him?” Chris’ voice boomed through the meeting room and his eyes zeroed in on the other shareholders who had lost their shares. They all went quiet, afraid that Chris was going to throw them out. “Good.” Chris nodded, in satisfaction, seeing that none of them dared to speak up again. “Now, let’s begin.” “Can we start, father?” He asked. “Yes.” Jones perked up immediately. He looked at them all with a serious gaze, “Your bad planning of selling the shares is not my son’s fault.”“However, we are working on finding who the unknown buyer is.” Jones tried to calm their minds. “If you find this buyer, Chairman, are we going to get our shares back? We made mistakes and we want to retrace our steps.” Some of them asked, anxious that they may never get the chance to sit at that meeting anymore. “We have to know who bought it.” They declared!
