Chris and Mia had walked far away and they didn't even go back to class, because the day had practically been ruined for them. As they walked, a lot of students pointed at him and some even came to him to apologize about bashing him on the school forum.

By the time they both reached Chris’ car, they were exhausted.

“Get in.” He opened his car door and Mia sent a questionable look at him before she got in. He got in the driver’s seat as well. However, he didn't drive away, he had to take a few moments to breathe.

“You have a really nice car.” Mia looked all around with a smile. She didn't have a good car like his and even though she was a rich heir, her family had been going through some internal crisis.

“Thanks…” He nodded at her and the car turned awkwardly silent while she suddenly looked down at her hands, with an itchy feeling to bombard him with questions.

On the other hand, Chris had observed her nervous reaction and he knew she really wanted to say something.

Mia’s voice was shaky and her chest rose and fell so fast, that she couldn't breathe. “What are you saying, Mia? What shady deal?” Chris questioned with a frown. He didn't like how she was so fearful. He was there to tell her everything and yet, she suddenly started to accuse him. “Tell me what is going on right this instant! Who owns this mansion? What are we here for?” She bombarded him with questions, while she held her chest, trying to breathe. “The mansion belongs to my family,” Chris replied. “Oh, really?” Mia sneered, not believing him in the slightest. “You know what?! I think I am going to call...” She frantically reached for her phone. On the other hand, Chris could already guess who she wanted to call. It could either be her parents or the cops. “Mia, you need to calm down…” He tried to reach out to her but she started to punch her fingers on her phone. In the next second, he took the phone, throwing it into the back seat. “What the fuck did you just do? Are you tryi

“Why?” Chris asked, frowning. “I have a guest.” He pointed back at his bedroom. If his father wanted to speak to him about something serious, then it had to wait until Mia was gone. “I'm afraid, this is very important and it is about your guest.” The butler replied, putting his hand behind him to show how serious he was. “About Mia?” Chris asked just to be sure and seeing how serious the whole situation was, he followed butler Steve into his father’s study room. A few minutes later, Chris stood before the desk, keeping eye contact with his father who was abnormally quiet. “You sent for me, Dad. Why aren't you speaking?” Chris frowned. “Why do you want to talk about Mia?” “Hmmm…” Jones let out a groan at first, he then closed his eyes and massaged his temples. He looked so stressed and in his mind, he knew he had made a fatal mistake. “Take Mia out of this place.” He instructed. Chris froze for a moment, not knowing what to think. That instruction came out of nowhere with no bas

You and Father promised to tell me what’s up with Mia and now he has absconded. What sick joke is this?” He thundered. At the same time, a few servants had come out to witness the altercation and Steve quickly told Chris to get into the mansion. At first, Chris didn't want to follow his lead but then he wasn't naive to how servants can be so interested in their boss’ business. He followed Steve back into the mansion and they approached Jones’ study. A few seconds later, they got into the study but instead of seeing his father behind the large desk, he saw only his father’s suit jacket. “What’

On the other hand, Steve who was behind the steering wheel, ready to start the car let out a tired sigh and then he began, “I have a duty to protect you, especially now that the master has gone on a trip. The police asked you to sign some documents and yet, you didn't stop to think what kind of documents they were.” Chris went silent upon hearing that, there was no defensive mechanism he could come up with at that time. He was indeed wrong. “The Westminster family cannot be involved in any form of scandal especially not with such a bloody case and girl. She is your ex-girlfriend, is she not?” Steve sneered, looking out of the window to the police officers who were still scrambling aro

At the same time, his phone rang and he saw that he received a message from Reid. It was a picture of Mia lying almost naked on the rooftop, with her face bloodied. Her eyes looked into the camera, pleading. Chris held onto his phone, almost crushing it with his grip, and with his eyes red, he looked like he was going crazy. And yes, he was. Beneath was a soft wide bed but then he was sure he wasn't in the Westminster mansion. As he turned his head to look all around, he couldn't place where he was and the memories from the school’s rooftop started to resurface in his mind. As soon as he recalled all that, his heartbeat spiked up and he jolted up from the bed. “Mia…” He called out, breathing heavily as his eyes started to dim again due to the force he used in getting up. He felt his head to see there were bandages around his head and a searing pain shot from the back of his head. If not for her help, they would never let him through, as the gun on his body would have been detected. While she paced in the office, the large smart TV in the office started to ring really and the words flowed smoothly into Ria’s ears. “THE NEW CEO OF THE WEST CONGLOMERATE WAS SHOT DURING THE PRESS CONFERENCE HELD IN THE COMPANY.”“THE NEW CEO, CHRIS WESTMINS

  • Ria’s Encounter

Ria maintained a smile on her face as she walked straight into Chris’ office. As soon as the door closed behind her, her smile turned into a vicious one, scary and alarming. The skimpy dress she had on was worn intentionally and she was so sure Chris would turn her away if she dressed so provocatively. Swiftly, she sashayed toward Chris’ chair and sat back behind his chair, hissing sinisterly. The suffering she had endured while she was in captivity in the den of The Reds wasn't to be quantified. She felt like her soul left her body and the scar on her face was the last thing she was most pained about. She closed her eyes, reeling in what she went through at the hands of that masked man. “When you go back to him…” The masked man whispered in her ears as he pinned her down to the cold ground of his prison. “Remember that that bastard is the cause of this. If he had protected you well enough, you wouldn't be here suffering in my arms!” His words kept haunting her for the past two

  • Ria’s Strange Attitude

“What do you mean?” Chris asked. “What thoughts? Do you think I despise you for the injury on your face?” He arched a brow at her. Even though her words sounded harmless, he couldn't help but think they had a double meaning. “Don’t think too much, Chris…” She chuckled, waving her hands nonchalantly. “I will be waiting, we will leave together.” She stood up from the desk and sashayed toward the door. As she walked, Chris noticed she was dressed differently, not like the elegant way she used to dress. Now, she wore sexy clothes that showed off her curves and every other thing. He started to wonder if something had gone wrong with her or if she had been affected by her injury. Chris made a mental note to ask the bodyguards and servants assigned to her if they had noticed anything unusual. Thirty minutes later…“It’s time, Chris…” Rico came into the office with an eager look on his face. “Everyone is waiting on you…” “Alright…” Chris finished a few things on his computer before sta

  • Ria Is Weird

Ria had been discharged from the hospital for two days and things had been calm on The Reds’ side. However, Chris had his eyes on them steadily. “Any move from their side?” Chris asked Rico who stood before his office desk. “None for now.” Rico shook his head. “Like I said, The Reds wouldn't dare to attack us and if they do, they are at a disadvantage.” He assured. “But we can never be too careful…” Chris shook his head worriedly. He had not trained enough yet to lead an attack and he was currently swamped with work. “I know your concerns. All you have to do now is work and head to the base to continue your training. Remember, you said you will achieve your goal in six months. Time flies much more than you think.” Rico said, feeling very concerned about Chris. “Alright.” Chris nodded, with a serious look. “Let’s get things done then. What’s on my schedule?” “You have a press conference soon. Your father wants you to be announced as the CEO.” Rico dropped a bomb on Chris and he lo

Chris sat beside Ria’s bedside in the private hospital. He looked calm but his heart was in turmoil. The more he thought about what he had asked Rico Axe to do, the more he felt like he had been too forward. He didn't think of the pros and cons. What if Rico Axe wasn't able to get out all alone? What would happen if Axe died? Of course, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself. He let out a tired sigh, feeling overwhelmed. He just needed a day of rest at this point, but it seemed rest was not for him the moment he stepped into this new country. He was so lost in thought that he didn't notice Ria had her eyes open.“Chris…” She called out weakly, her eyes blinking slowly. Immediately he heard his name, his head whipped to look at her. “Ria, are you okay?” He asked frantically. “I will get a doctor…”He was about to rush out of the hospital room but Ria held him back. She held onto his hand so tight that her fingers were digging into his skin. “Please… don’t go... I am scared…” She
