Chapter 4: Primordial Forest

Inside the spatial crack Jeffrey entered, all he could see was darkness, it was so dark that anybody with nyctophobia will straight up die from heart attack. It felt like he was moving in a viscous liquid, it was uncomfortable and felt slightly painful.

He didn't know how long he spent motionless in this viscous liquid but he knew he was moving, he didn't know how he could remain conscious after waking up because deep inside he just somehow knew he should be dead and he didn't know how right he was.

What he didn't know was that he was in the void, if any powerful cultivator or being should hear someone or something was in the VOID, to them that person is history, dead, finished. The void is one of the most dangerous places in the universe if not the most dangerous place in the universe. Anybody lost in the void, is lost forever. If the void doesn't kill them, the void beasts will. Some ignorant ones will say the void beasts are the most dangerous in the void but the knowledgeable ones know that the void liquid is the most dangerous, it contains one of the densest amount of space and time laws and some other laws but that is another story for another day.

What Jeffrey didn't know, was that on his body were writings which was protecting him from the void liquid and also hiding his presence from the void beasts. Well he should also be lucky that he has no energy in his body or he might become snack for a curious void beast.

After finding out he couldn't figure out the situation he's in, he started thinking about various things like what happened to Jennifer since he couldn't find her, his parents, what was happening on his planet, what were those monsters and more importantly what's going to happen him. As he thought of all this things, he shivered in fear.

While thinking, he heard a crack and became pale, he absolutely hates that sound. After today, it had reached the top of his list of most hated things.

CRACK CRACK

' What's going to happen to me now, am I going to die. At least let me have a painless death' Jeffrey thought and then closed his eyes as he felt himself been pulled towards the direction where he heard his most recent enemy and waited for the inevitable.

BANG

" Ouch" Jeffrey felt pain and wondered what happened. He tries to open his eyes instinctively but shuts them back immediately as he had not seen any source of light for who knows how long and was almost blinded, learning from his mistake he waits and later adjusts to the light.

He opens his eyes and the first thing he sees is a green sky with blue clouds. He gets up and looks around and find trees, very very tall trees and without looking at anything else he knew he's fucked because no trees are this big on his planet unless he's in unexplored lands.

He moves around to get closer to the trees and realizes two very important things he ignored. First, he's not looking at the trunks of the tree but their crown which should be impossible as he's obviously not as tall as a tree. He runs towards the tree while looking at the floor, after running for a few minutes he finds the reason for the impossible and curses. He's on a mountain, a very very high mountain, when he looks at the bottom of the mountain the first thing that comes to his mind is 'who has he offended' cause there's no way he could climb down.

Jeffrey decided to face this big issue later because he has a bigger one, he could not find Jennifer. They entered the crack together but when he was running to the edge of the mountain he didn't see her at all. He decided to check around for her but after searching around for a few minutes he couldn't find her and was starting to panic. " JENNIFER, JENNIFER. WHERE ARE YOU!!"

BANG

"Ouch… calm down alright, I'm right here" A voice which Jeffrey thought he'd never hear was heard in front of him. He saw Jennifer trying to get up from the floor after he mistakenly hit her when she appeared from nowhere. He didn't hear or care about what she said and he ran towards her and pulled her in for a hug afraid this'll be a dream, afraid she'll disappear.

"Alright crying man, can you leave me before you suffocate me to death" Jennifer pats Jeffrey back like how an adult consoles a child but Jeffrey didn't care and just released her as he was happy Jennifer was safe.

" Where were you, what happened to you after you after you entered the crack" Jeffrey asks Jennifer

" After I entered, I became unconscious and when I woke up, I was on a bed. When I was about to get up that's when I heard your voice calling my name and I was brought here. Where are we by the way?"

'So you were sleeping on a bed while I was in a dark and viscous liquid, who in the world did I offend' Jeffrey thought with indignation after knowing the difference in their experience in coming to this strange place.

" I don't know where we are but I know we are on a very high mountain. I don't even know how we're going to climb down"

" Let's check everywhere, we might be able to find an easier way down." Jennifer gave her opinion after seeing the distance all the way to the bottom and there was no way she's climbing down as one wrong step and it's the end for them.

" I sure hope we'll be able to find a way down. I don't want to be stuck on this mountain." Jeffrey shivered whenever he thinks of been forced to stay on this mountain for his entire life. He looks at Jennifer moving around and is happy that at least she's here and if worse comes to worse they'll become mountain people and form a mountain tribe or village.

' At least it's not a man I'm with' Jeffrey thought with a pale face and shivered once more.

RUMBLE!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Jennifer and Jeffrey shook as the mountain trembled like an earthquake was occurring. They ran towards the edge of the mountain and looked down, and what they saw made them freeze and stop breathing. Animals, beasts, various types and sizes could be seen running like a stampede from afar. They saw animals that will make an elephant to be seen as a newborn child, the ground trembled so much that it'll not be a surprise if an earthquake occurred.

Jeffrey and Jennifer looked at the beasts and noticed that the beasts were running away from something but they didn't know what they were running away from but when they turned back, they realized what they were running away from.

ROOAARR!!!

KRRREEE!!!

As Jeffrey and Jennifer heard those two sounds, they couldn't move, they tried to but they could not move anything. Their entire body and soul was frozen in fear and terror and when they looked at the beings that caused this unforgettable fear, they screamed and fell down why clutching their heads and shutting their eyes immediately. They felt like their minds was going to explode and they were going to become blind if they looked for one more second.

It was like they were not worthy to gaze upon those beings, while Jeffrey and Jennifer were holding their heads, they recalled that they've seen images of beings like them recently, in Zhena's Fortune and Misfortune Shop. It was the picture of a lizard with a pair of wings and a bird but not with a pair of wings but four pairs of wings, EIGHT WINGS in total and if Jeffrey was not wrong then according to the folktales, novels and manga that should be a Dragon and a Phoenix.

Jeffrey was confused as in novels a Phoenix should only have a pair of wings or maybe he was wrong and that wasn't a Phoenix but for him that doesn't matter right now as the only thing in his mind right now is that they were ABSOLUTELY FUCKED!.
