ONE HUNDRED AND SIX – INTERROGATIONS

For a moment, no one moved. Fiona gradually edged backwards, waving the scissors in front of her like it was a weapon of war.

The doctor looked appalled at her behaviour but Luke calmly said;

“Drop the scissors and cooperate with the doctor, Fiona. Now.”

“No!” She screeched. “I don’t trust you,” her eyes scanned the room. “Any of you. I want to leave right now.”

Luke shot her a glare.

“Do you have anything to hide? Is that it? You so boldly claimed just a few hours ago that this baby is mine. Why then are you resisting the paternity test if you’ve got nothing to hide?”

Her face twisted with annoyance.

“This child belongs to you, Luke. We don’t need a goddamn paternity test to confirm that.”

As she was ranting away, Luke and John made eye contact and John immediately swung into action.

Just as she reached the door, John lunged forward and grabbed both her hands, pinning them behind her back.

Fiona’s eyes widened in horror and a yell of surprise slipped past her lips.
