The crowd erupted in laughter, and the old man stormed out of the showroom, clearly fuming. Elijah turned back to the salesman, his smirk softening into a composed expression.

“So, how much longer for the paperwork?” he asked smoothly, as if nothing had happened.

The salesman adjusted his tie, clearly more respectful now after witnessing Elijah’s seamless transaction. “It’ll take about 20 more minutes to finalize everything,” he said, a polite smile replacing the earlier doubt in his eyes.

“Take your time,” Elijah replied calmly, stepping aside to let them work.

The staff moved quickly, organizing paperwork and confirming the transfer. When everything was ready, the salesman handed Elijah the final documents, including the keys to the BMW M5. “Congratulations, sir. Everything is complete,” he said, offering a firm handshake.

Elijah accepted it with a small nod.

The salesman hesitated for a moment before introducing himself. “My name is Jacob Foster. I must say, Mr. Westbrook, you’ve

Jessica pulled neatly into an open space close to the line of palm trees and turned off the engine. For a moment, the music from outside filled the car completely, bass thudding through the doors like a second heartbeat. She stepped out first, stretching slightly, then Elijah followed, the sand crunching softly under his shoes as he closed the door behind him.The moment they moved away from the car, the **energy of the beach hit fully**.To their right, a group of young people had formed a loose circle around a portable speaker, laughing loudly as they danced barefoot in the sand, drinks lifted high, their shadows jumping with the rhythm. A few meters away, couples sat close to each other on spread-out towels, shoulders touching, fingers intertwined, murmuring things meant only for the two of them as the waves rolled in and out.Closer to the shoreline, children ran back and forth, shrieking whenever the water chased their feet, while a man knelt to help a little girl build a crooked

As they got into Jessica’s car, she looked at Elijah and asked, “Do you want to drive?”Elijah smiled and shook his head. “Come on, no. It’s late, and I’m not familiar with the streets like that. You drive. By the way, are we going to that same stall as last time?”Jessica shook her head. “No. This is just a night drive. We can stop anywhere. Are you okay with that?”Elijah nodded. “No problem.”She started the car and drove out. After about ten minutes on the road, Jessica slowed down and stopped near a small spot where ice cream was being sold. “Let’s get some here.”Elijah nodded, and they both got down. They bought two ice creams, Jessica paid, and they returned to the car, eating quietly. “This tastes really nice,” she said.Elijah nodded in agreement, then looked at her. “So, what work do you do?”“I’m a student. We’re on holidays now,” Jessica replied. “Aside from that, I do online writing. I make some money from it—not much, but it’s good for me.”“That’s very nice,” Elijah sa

Elijah leaned back on the bed and nodded lightly, his voice soft. “I missed you too. I’ll need a deep hug from you when I come back. “When are you coming back anyway? It’s just two more weeks to Christmas.”There was a brief pause, then he added with a small smile, “I know, right. I’ll be back tomorrow.”“Tomorrow?” Sierra’s tone brightened instantly. “Very good. I’ll be waiting. Morning?”“Yes,” Elijah replied.“Okay, okay. Love you, baby,” Sierra said, blowing a kiss through the phone.“Love you too,” Elijah answered, smiling as he placed the phone down.Unseen behind the door, Jessica stood still. She had come to check on him, but when she heard his voice on the call, she stopped and waited. Every word reached her clearly. The warmth in his tone, the way he spoke to the woman on the other end, made something twist quietly in her chest. She swallowed the feeling, pressed it down, and after a moment, knocked.“Come in,” Elijah said.Jessica opened the door and stepped inside with a

“Encounter with Grandmaster Shank Thorian?”The words echoed softly in the hall, and everyone instinctively looked at one another. Faces tightened, hands froze mid-air, and even the laughter from moments ago vanished as if it had never existed.Elijah remained calm, his tone almost casual as he continued,“There’s no need to worry. I already dealt with Shank.” He paused briefly, then added plainly, “I abolished his cultivation. He’s weak now… weaker than a vegetable.”A sharp gasp rippled through the compound.Jessica’s eyes widened in disbelief.“What did you just say?”Shadow stiffened, his face draining of color.“That’s… impossible. Grandmaster Shank Thorian has stood at the peak for decades. No one has ever—”Phantom slowly set his cup down, staring at Elijah as if trying to read his soul.“Elijah… beating Shank is one thing,” he said carefully. “But abolishing his cultivation? That’s something even legends fail to do.”Lira felt her knees go weak as she whispered,“You’re saying

Lira’s spine straightened instantly. Darius’s eyes darted between her and Elijah. Phantom and Shadow looked over sharply. Jessica’s hand stilled beside Elijah’s cheek.Lira suddenly pushed her chair back. The sound scraped loudly against the floor as she hurried forward, dropped to her knees before Elijah, and bowed her head deeply. Her voice trembled with urgency as she said, “Master… my sect and I are in grave trouble. We’re facing a disaster we can’t deal with. If you help us, we’ll be indebted to you for life.”Elijah straightened slightly, the fatigue in his body still there but his mind clear. He looked down at her calmly and asked, “What trouble?”Lira lifted her head slowly, fear plain in her eyes, and began to explain how one of her sect members had made a grave mistake and crossed paths with a terrifying force. She spoke of threats delivered without mercy, of warnings that carried the weight of death, and of a vow made to completely annihilate the Ghost Crows if they failed

He shook his head gently.“I’m fine. What’s going on here?”Jessica exhaled, half relieved, half worried.“They’re having a feast. Celebrating… something. Come, come and eat a little.”Even though he was hungry, the exhaustion was sitting heavy in his chest.“I’m so tired I don’t even have the energy to eat,” he murmured. “Let me just go and sleep first.”Jessica shook her head quickly.“No, no—don’t worry, I’ll handle everything. Just come and sit. What did you do to get this tired? Did you go fight someone?”Elijah looked at her but didn’t answer.Instead, he simply let his hand fall gently around her neck, leaning on her for support.Jessica immediately guided him to the table.“Serve, please,” she said firmly.Plates and trays began arriving almost instantly—every sect member and assassin in the yard scrambling over each other to serve Elijah first, terrified of disrespecting him.Jessica helped him lean back comfortably, her hand still steadying his shoulder, before the food bega
