Chapter 171

Jason entered the doctor's office and took a seat while he fidgeted. Laura said that she would be waiting outside for him in case he needed anything. He only hoped that it was not going to be a shoulder to cry on. The doctor headed out of the washroom with a towel in his hand and came to sit down. "We managed to preserve your child," the doctor announced to him, and Jason saw himself letting out a sigh of relief. "However, he would have to be dependent on oxygen for the first year of his life, so that his lungs would not be overstressed and cause another complication."

Jason did not expect things to be easy considering that the child was premature as well. He would have to deal with whatever was tossed at them. If he wanted to do so, then he would be of much support to Daphne. It was as though a sense of responsibility had suddenly dawned on him and he was suddenly seeing things from a better perspective.

"Do we have to keep him in the hospital?" Jason asked as he was concerned about
