Chapter 31

As soon as Jason's eyes fluttered open, he made a weak attempt to get up from the bed he was on but fell back on the bed.

He looked around. He was familiar with the environment already. It looked like his apartment, but he did not know what was happening.

The last he remembered was that he was at dinner with his family and a few friends of his father.

The throbbing headache was still present, but he was glad that there was an improvement in how he felt compared to earlier.

He looked up, and Alex was standing by him, looking down at him.

"I'm glad you are awake," Alex said. "Let me get the doctor." It was at this point that he noticed that he had infusions attached to him.

"What about my father?" Jason asked.

"He is talking with the doctor outside.

It was as though Jason summoned his father because he stepped in at that moment with the doctor.

"You should have said something to me about the workload," Mr. Abbott began, obviously worried about his son.
