“I said get out, or I will kill you! Get the fuck out of here!” Luther was screaming and growling at the top of his lungs at Linnie.

His eyes screamed of rage and violence. His veins stood strong. He balled his fingers into angry fists, as though he would punch Linnie with them. For the first time, Linnie thought that she was in the room with a beast who would kill her, because even though there was a slight distance between them, she could feel Luther’s hot and angry breath against her skin. Linnie knew that if Luther became crazy enough to kill her, he would go scot free, because of his family’s influence and power, and worse, because she was just a woman without a family or name. In fact, they could paint a lie about a home accident that led to Linnie’s demise, and she would be forgotten as though she never existed, and that would even hurt her more, because that would mean that she left the shores of this earth without fulfilling half of what she desired.

“Go!” Luther was still sh

Linnie came downstairs the next morning and she was surprised to see Luther seated at the dining and having breakfast as usual. After she had had sex with Luther the day before, he had fallen right to sleep, and had stayed holed up in his room, but this morning, she was surprised to see him down and eating. He was even dressed for work.“Good morning, Luther,” Linnie greeted as she sat on one of the chairs at the dining table.Luther paid her no mind as he continued with his breakfast.“I just said good morning,” Linnie said.“I am having breakfast, Linnie, as you can see. Do you expect me to choke on my food just to respond to you?” Luther asked sharply.Linnie was shocked at his tone. First of all, Luther talked whenever he wanted, so she did not understand his flimsy excuse of wanting to observe table manners, and then she had just helped him get out of a mood that was driving him insane, and this was the attitude that she got? Linnie looked at Luther, and for the first time, she w

  • Rise Of The Rightful Heir   The Shoulder Of Responsibility

Luther arrived at the company and the first thing that flashed through his mind was blood, but he quickly shook it off and proceeded into the building. He was never going back to where he just got out from.Luther admitted to himself that what happened between him and Linnie shifted something in him, which was why he could he get up this morning, eat, and come to work. He would have wallowed in his own grief until he possibly died of it, because the nightmares after the incident almost made Luther lose his mind. While he stayed holed up in his bedroom, he had heard sound of the gunshot that Darwin fired that took the doctor’s life, and his battered face and pleading eyes kept calling at Luther. When he closed his eyes, he would see his face, and when he opened his eyes, he would still see his face. It had been the worst time of Luther’s life. He had also been dreadfully scared that he might never come out of this. His father had called him several times, but Luther could not just bri

Laxus had spent the last couple of days working tirelessly. He had also had to travel to different cities and countries to meet with business associates and also held meetings with businessmen and women, so much so that Laxus had not had time to think of or do anything else.Laxus had also invested most of the ideas that Thaddeus brought to him. He took the advice that Bowman gave to him and decided to invest in it, because regardless of his feelings, he was talking about business, and business had no connection with sentiments. Beside, Darwin already blatantly declared his disinterest years before now, and truthfully, Thaddeus had worked on the proposal, and it was no longer exactly the way he had presented it to Darwin. It had been a hectic couple of days, but Laxus expected it, because he knew that responsibilities like these usually came with a lot of task.“Mr. Laxus,” Bridget said as she popped her head into Laxus’s office.Bridget had been more than efficient so far, and Laxus

Bowman waited for Dragon in his private lounge. Even though he hated to be disturbed, this was a crucial meeting, and also, Dragon preferred to meet here than at his mansion.Since he got the news from Dragon about the death of the doctor, he had immediately ordered Dragon to get Barrister Dickson out of the clinic that they had transferred him to. Bowman wasn’t a child, and he wasn’t stupid either; he knew without a doubt that Darwin had a hand in it. Darwin was the one who put the Barrister in his condition in the first place, so he wouldn’t be shocked that Darwin would go the extra mile just to finish what he had begun. It was obvious that Darwin wanted to shut the Barrister’s mouth or get what belonged to Laxus from him, and as long as Bowman lived, he would never allow that to happen. These were some of the things that were happening around Laxus that he was blind to. Even the tarot reader had tried to bring those revelations to Laxus through her words, but Laxus had run away fro

Luther watched his father pace about in his office, agitated and worried.“I think you should calm down, dad. Their call will come in soon,” Luther tried to encourage his father, but Darwin was not having it.“They are wasting so much time, and I need to know if the operation was successful or not,” Darwin said.He placed finger in between his teeth and they shook furiously. He had never been this agitated and nervous before in his entire existence. Darwin was worried to the core, because if anything should go wrong, he would he be doomed. They would all be doomed.“You don’t understand the gravity of the situation at hand; you never do, Luther,” Darwin said. They had been in the office an hour after the usual closing time and everyone had left. In fact, Darwin had sent a general order for everyone to close earlier than usual and go home simply because of this. • Rise Of The Rightful Heir   Feeling Of Neglect

Luther thought that he was going to explode in a rage. “Where is the scotch?” Darwin asked, still reminiscing over the phone call he just made. “We have a toast to make before we head out to see that sick bastard, Barrister Dickson, and if he has recovered well enough, he will give us everything that he was meant to give to Laxus,” Darwin added gleefully.A moment ago, he had been so worried and agitated and afraid that he had almost lost his mind in the process. If they had been caught, Darwin would have landed in jail, except they do not sell him out, and that was something that Darwin could not bank on. He liked having clean and spotless dealings that left no traces. Every time he had done something dirty just to secure a future for himself, he had come out unscathed, and he wasn’t about to stop now. Heck, Darwin was not about to go to jail when he should be retiring and joining a golf club and spending the rest of his days puffing his expensive cigars away and getting occasional

As Laxus prepared for the country’s business show, he felt a kind of way deep in his stomach. The news making the rounds about the show dropping Luther and picking him instead just did not sit well with him, but Laxus had already accepted the invitation, which would undoubtedly go a long way in boosting his already fast-rising company.“Never be afraid to ruffle a few feathers.” Those words have been helping Laxus take a stand. When he broke out from his family and the company, Laxus never imagined that he would be dealing with any of them anymore. In all honesty, Laxus never wanted to even deal with them again, because seeing them or reading anything about them just made him feel angered and hurt and betrayed all over again, from his father, to his brother, to his x-fiancee.One of the things that made Laxus feel less guilty and troubled were the fact that everyone knew that the country’s business show was not a show that could be manipulated or influenced, so there was not an issue

“Good, good,” Bowman said hastily. “It is a good thing that you know me already, so we will just get straight to the point,” Bowman added, intentionally doing so to prevent Barrister Dickson from spilling what Bowman didn’t want anyone to know just yet, including Dragon.“Thank you for sticking it out for me after the attack; I was told,” Barrister Dickson said weakly. “I am sure you did all that for Laxus,” he added.Bowman swallowed. The tone of the lawyer indicated that he might fall into sleep again. Being that they were fortunate to have the man’s brains back, Bowman did not want to take chances. He could sleep and wake up clueless again, but the good thing was that he was far away from Darwin’s knowledge and reach. At least, before Darwin would know of it, Bowman would have gotten what he wanted from the lawyer.“Why does Darwin want you dead?” Bowman asked, going straight to the point. There was still no proof or evidence that it was Darwin who was behind the attack, but still,

  • No More Time

Bowman was more than excited about what Dragon told him. He did not even want to worry about why such important information got to Dragon first, as long as it was good news.“I want to speak with him right now,” Bowman requested firmly.“And you will, but I was told that according to their time zone, you should be able to speak to him in two hours time,” Dragon informed Bowman.“Then let me speak with the doctor,” Bowman said.He could not even hide the fact that he was very relieved. Asking to speak to the doctor just to be sure was not an indication that he did not trust Dragon, and thankfully, Dragon already knew about these things. With Dragon, Bowman did not need to explain himself, which was one of the reasons they had had a good working relationship over the years.Dragon instantly dialed the number and gave it to Bowman who put in on speaker.“How did they get your number anyway?” Bowman asked while they waited for the foreign doctor to take the call.“When Laxus was filling i

  • A Hopeful News

Bowman had just finished with his appointment with the doctor, and he tried not to let the weight of his words sit too long in his heart.“Your condition is getting critical, Bowman.”Those had been his words, and after which he had prescribed some medications to keep Bowman ready for the meantime. Bowman had checked with good hospitals privately, and they had all come out with the same result; heart condition.Bowman stepped out of the hospital slowly, thinking about what the doctor said and still trying to be bold about it. The good thing about staying anonymously powerful, influential and filthy rich was the fact that he could go wherever he wanted to go to without being chased around by nosy bloggers and paparazzi. Bowman was only being discreet because he did not want news of it to get to Laxus yet, even though it was unlikely, being that people did not know that he and Laxus had any relationship or connection whatsoever.Bowman groaned in exasperation when he saw Dragon waiting

Laxus had the sighed and sealed contract in his hand, but for some reason, he did not feel triumphant. He should be feeling elated, because he knew exactly what this contract with the Zayomi company would do for the company he was handling for Bowman, and also, especially how far he had come just to get it, but he wasn’t.Right before the meeting, the Zayomi man had found a way to persuade the other men into asking Nessy to excuse them from the executive chambers.“We already know that Laxus is now married, even though it caused quite a bad scandal and a stir in his country,” the Zayomi man had begun just before the meeting had officially started.“It didn’t cause any bad scandal, the last time I recall,” Laxus had gently and respectfully interrupted, correcting the impression the Zayomi man was trying to create amongst the other men and also doing it with respect.Even though he was already feeling upset about the switch in the character of the man from Zayomi, Laxus felt that since

She was not sure that she heard Luther correctly.“Are you deaf or something?” Luther asked harshly, his eyes blazing hot with anger.Even though where he stood was a little dark because it was late and Linnie’s bedroom light did not illuminate brightly in that area, she could see and feel his anger and irritation in the core of her bones.“I am not deaf, Luther, but I am wondering if you are drunk,” Linnie said, standing confidently and facing Luther as he slowly entered her room. They had been married long enough now, but Linnie could count the number of times that Luther had entered into her room, as compared to the times that she had entered his.“Maybe getting drunk would have been a better idea, now that you have mentioned it,” Luther spat. “At least, being drunk would make me less aware of being with a woman like you,” Luther added spitefully. His words sliced through Linnie’s heart, but she decided that she would n
