Luther drive straight to Abby’s mining company the moment they closed from work. He was itching all day to leave the company, but unlike before, he could not just stand up and leave, knowing that he now had a competitor, and Linnie would be glad if he did anything that made him look bad or incompetent in front of his father.

Luther still had intentions to speak with his father regarding hiring Linnie, but for now, he just wanted to see Abby and be happy.

“You will have to wait for a moment, sir, because Miss Abby Golden is having an important meeting and she is not to be disturbed,” Abby’s secretary had told Luther.

“I will wait for as long as it takes,” Luther had responded.

So Luther had sat down and waited patiently, anticipating his meeting and rehearsing what he would say and not say in Abby’s presence. It was as though he was meeting a woman for the first time, and that was what even made Luther certain that he was in love with Abby. He was even skeptical about still meeting Abb

  • Rise Of The Rightful Heir   Two Major Enemies

Luther drove back home like a wounded beast. Even though the conversation had just been between himself and Abby Golden, he had felt insulted and humiliated. Maybe he would not have won the contract with the Zayomi man, but he would have at least given it his best shot, and now, he had lost on both sides.“She prefers Laxus over me,” Luther said to himself angrily and bitterly.First, he had to marry a woman that Laxus had already been with, which was like marrying a hand-me-down woman, and now, the one woman that Luther loved dearly, Laxus wanted to steal her away as well. Luther was certain that if Laxus wasn’t in the picture at all, he would have had his chance with Abby, regardless of his marital status.“He is the more brilliant son, the more loved and favored grandson when granny was alive, and now, he is getting everything he wanted,” Luther continued to talk to himself hatefully. He was sick and tired of being rejected and Laxus being accepted. The only time he had enjoyed bei

  • Rise Of The Rightful Heir   Who To Go With

It had been a very busy week for Laxus; online meetings with the men from Zayomi, trying to fix the hamburger store with Nessy and hiring workers to assist her, and also running the company’s affairs. Laxus could barely blink his eyes to rest, and he could not wait for the weekend where he would get to rest eventually.Anyway, one of the reasons Laxus was happy that he had been entirely busy was the fact that it helped him keep his mind off everything that transpired in Mr. Golden’s mansion, and also, the way he felt whenever he was close to Nessy. Every single day, they spent at least two hours together, and Laxus continued to fight his feelings towards her. He knew that it was not love; it could never be love…Laxus had declared himself incapable of loving any woman ever again, but then again, he could not tell what it was. However, being busy made him think of Nessy less, because as soon as he left her presence to face work, he usually forgot about her, or thought of her less. “Bridget, please come into my office,” Laxus said over the intercom and a few seconds later, Bridget entered his office.“You called, sir,” Bridget said.“Yes, I did,” Laxus answered her. “I want you to book a flight for me and Nessy for mid week next week. I will forward all the details to your email,” Laxus instructed Bridget. He did not see the irritation and scowl that appeared on her face upon the mention of Nessy’s name. “Why her?” Bridget blurted out, making Laxus to raise his head up abruptly.“Excuse me?” Laxus asked, unsure of what he heard, and also unsure of the sharp tone of her voice.Bridget, realizing that she had spat out the hatred she had for Nessy by sounding that way and asking that question, cleared her throat and rephrased her question. “With all due respect, Mr. Laxus, I was merely asking what it is for…as your personal assistant concerned.”Laxus, being too busy and occupied with a lot of things decided not to think too much of what just transpired. “The Zayom

Laxus was still working when Bridget returned to his office.“Have you seen the email I sent you? Every useful information you need is there, so you can proceed with the flight booking and also take Nessy out for that shopping I spoke about,” Laxus said without even bothering to look at Bridget’s expression.“Gotten sir, but Nes…Miss Nessy will not be going with you on the trip,” Bridget told Laxus.Laxus snapped his head up in shock. “What do you mean by that?” Laxus asked. “Did you not deliver my message to her? I told you to tell her that it is an official obligation; one that cannot be turned down,” Laxus added. “I said all that, sir, exactly as you asked me to, but she looked at me square in the eyes and asked me to return to you with a negative response,” Bridget said, laying emphasis on every single word. Then cautiously, she continued. “Sir, I know that this isn’t my place, but I must confess that she was quite rude and disrespectful, and frankly, this is the first employee o

Bowman’s heart broke when he saw Laxus and when he heard him speak in that manner. He was more infuriated with Darwin now more than ever, and he wished that he could just do what he had in mind and finish everything off once and for all.“Please don’t say that,” Bowman said, trying to prevent his voice from shaking due to the immense emotion he was feeling. “Come with me, Laxus,” Bowman added as he led Laxus to his study room where they could talk privately. When they got there, Bowman poured them both two glasses of scotch.“I don’t think I am in the mood for drinks,” Laxus said, his eyes welling with tears. “Gosh, I am so close to achieving things, and now, it is going to go down the drain,” Laxus added sorrowfully. Now was not the time to cajole Laxus into drinking anything, so Bowman decided to drink alone. Then he sat close to Laxus and squeezed his knee hard.“A man should never accept defeat, especially when the battle hasn’t even begun,” Bowman said.“What should I do?” Laxus

  • Rise Of The Rightful Heir   False Statements

Everyone was gathered in Darwin’s office, including Thaddeus who was still looking as though he was going to pee in his pants any moment from now. Darwin ensured that Detective George was always present, because he knew exactly how things like this usually played out. Luther was also there, and as expected, he was fuming, but Darwin refused to let that change anything. Darwin knew exactly what he was doing; he was a desperate and an ambitious father and businessman, and someday soon, Luther would understand all of it. Then there was Linnie, Darwin’s new shining light, and unlike what a lot of people knew about Darwin, he would use Linnie to achieve his goals before he finally decided on what he would do with her, although he already admitted that Linnie was surpassing his expectations by her exceptional skills. Then Darwin also invited the company lawyer and of course, a popular blogger to push the narrative. If he had never been serious about dragging Laxus down, he meant it now, e

“We have to go,” Bowman turned to Laxus and said after his call with Dragon.Laxus, however, did not think it was a good idea. For him, he was more worried about the fact that Thaddeus had been taken by someone, and Laxus had no doubt now that that person would be no other person but Darwin. Right now, he wanted to sort this issue out, because he believed that the news from Dragon about the lawyer could actually wait.“Right now?” Laxus asked Bowman.“Yes,” Bowman answered. “We have to now that he is awake and conscious,” Bowman added.“But we can always do that later, Bowman. What are we going to do about Darwin’s attempt to ruin me and your company?” Laxus asked worriedly.Bowman looked at Laxus and smiled. “Listen, boy, two things can be handled at the same time, and while we wait for things with Darwin to be sorted out, we should go and see the lawyer,” Bowman insisted.Laxus knew at this point that he would no longer be able to stop or persuade Bowman. • Dilemma

Luther felt better. The pain that he was feeling from the fall was gone after resting for twenty-four hours. However, he was still acting as though he needed help and support from Linnie. And it was for a reason.“Mr. Luther, would you like to have lunch here in your bedroom or downstairs at the dining table?” The maid asked Luther.Although he felt sound and better, he just still laid in bed as his mind thought about everything that had happened. He felt terrible and upset that he gave Linnie the chance to take the upper hand, and more than that, he was curious about those letters.“She knocked me out because of those letters,” Luther thought in his mind. “There must be something in it that she is hiding, so much so that she was willing to kill me. The small box would also have been given to Laxus, but they all knew that it was missing. All attempts to get necessary information about his upbringing and why his grandmother was particular about not wanting Darwin anywhere near the mansion had been impossible. The lawyer had left after his mission was accomplished, and Laxus had had to sit through a dinner party that he wasn’t really in the mood for. However, Nessy was such a good guest that Laxus’s mood did not ruin the purpose for the dinner.“I should have known that including a celebratory dinner alongside with the will reading would not work well, but I guess I didn’t put things into consideration much,” Bowman had

His emotions were doing being a rollercoaster at the moment and a lot of things were running through his mind. Never in his wildest dreams would Laxus have thought that his grandmother would bequeath to him the biggest and oldest mansions in the entire city…and to think that he had neglected to look after it after her passing. The only thing that Laxus had been concerned about when she died was the grief and heaviness in his heart. He had never imagined that his granny was capable of dying, because even if she was clearly old, she was filled with love and life, so Laxus was extremely devastated when she had passed. The last thing that had been on his mind had been inheritance.

  • His Inheritance

On their way to Bowman’s mansion, as they sat at the back of the car, Laxus felt as though his tongue had been tied.He was still very embarrassed with his reaction about Nessy’s whereabouts. He had acted like a teenager who was scared that his mother had abandoned him, and worse, his voice had been frantic and loud enough that Nessy had heard him. Even though Nessy hadn’t said anything about it or reacted to it, Laxus had felt completely flushed. Fortunately for him, Nessy had simply accepted to go with him to Bowman’s, abandoning the breakfast that she had prepared for the both of them.“I am sorry that we couldn’t have the breakfast that you took time making,” Laxus eventually managed to break the ice. “Bowman sounded urgent, and if we had stayed back to eat, we would have been late. Nevertheless, we would have the next breakfast together,” Laxus promised. Now, he didn’t know if Nessy was cold because he didn’t eat what she had prepared or if she was still on about last night.“It’

He reached forth for Nessy, but her side of the bed was empty.“Why did she leave the bed so early?” Laxus asked himself, getting worried and wondering if she had crawled back to her hole.He could still recall what she said last night, and how speechless he had been. A part of him had told him that she had made that confession in her sleepy state, so she couldn’t have realized that he didn’t say a word, right? Even though he had only been married to Nessy for a couple of days, he already knew that she was an emotional woman with a soft heart. Not saying that he loved her too could hurt her deeply and make her recoil, but then again, Laxus hadn’t even decided if he was truly in love with Nessy as well, and he did not want to lie to her.Laxus’s phone began to ring again, taking him out of his reverie. He was somewhat relieved when the caller ID showed Bowman. Since they returned from their trip, Laxus hadn’t s

They had been in the hospital all night, but she felt relieved now, because her knee had been treated and the pain had greatly subsided. Linnie could rarely believe how everything had worked in her favor. She had ensured that the bloggers had gotten the story, and now that it was dawn, she believed that the news would be flying all over the internet in no time.Luther opened his eyes, finally awake. The doctor had given him some sedatives to make him sleep better after he was examined, and also some drugs to help the alcohol get out of his system faster. He looked like a mess, and once again, Linnie realized that he was not half as handsome as Laxus.“You,” Luther said grudgingly when he turned and saw Linnie. “I don’t want you here, you evil woman,” Luther declared.Of course, Linnie knew that he would try to be a nuisance once he woke up, but she was very well prepare
