As Nessy began to work on the flour for the hamburger that morning, she could not stop thinking about the picture of Laxus and Abby Golden that Drake had forced her into seeing.

She was still nursing the fact that till now, Laxus completely forgot about her, especially now that she had no place to stay. Nessy was not expecting anything from Laxus, and he did not owe her anything in particular, but with his current position, she could have made do with his help.

“I really thought we were friends,” Nessy said to herself as she mixed the flour with so much pain in her heart.

She could not understand why no one wanted to stay with her as a friend, and because Nessy had no friends, life were really difficult for her at the moment. Actually, life had never been fair to Nessy. She grew up with parents that never cared about her, and when her father had gotten into a bad debt with Gary, he had been more than willing to ship Nessy off to the old man to play slave just to get Gary off his back.
