“All these?” Laxus asked in awe.

He was still in shock as to the beauty and elegance of the entire place. Hadn’t they spoken about it in less than seventy-two hours? If Laxus could remember their conversation that led to Bowman’s offer which he had accepted, Bowman had sounded as though it was something that would begin from scratch. He certainly couldn’t have erected this magnificent structure in twenty-four hours or less.

“Yes, Laxus, all of it,” Bowman said.

He could see the smile and awe in Laxus’s eyes, and he knew that he had gotten just the right reaction that he wanted from Laxus.

“And this is your office right here,” Bowman informed Laxus.

“This room?” Laxus asked, still shocked.

“Of course,” Bowman answered firmly.

Somehow, Laxus knew that this was the most exquisite office in the entire building. “So if this is my office, which one is yours?” Laxus asked Bowman.

“It’s just right across this one, although I might not be here as often as expected of you,” Bowman told Laxus.

This had been something he had wanted to do desperately when he was working at his family company, but his father always said, “It is a pipe dream, Laxus. Merging hamburger to what we have going on is going to be a cruel joke on the company, and we cannot stand that, so do away with such childish fantasy,” whenever he brought up the idea to his father. And now, Laxus had the freedom to do just that…finally!“Don’t thank me, Laxus, just do your absolute best,” Bowman told Laxus instead.“You will never regret entrusting this into my hands,” Laxus p

Then Bowman’s driver drove off.“You left the party,” Dragon observed.“I never planned to attend it,” Bowman answered strictly.Dragon was rarely ever surprised, because most times, he always knew that moves people were about to make before they made them, even Bowman, but he did not see this one coming at all. Dragon was not offended that Bowman did not tell him about this plan; Bowman did not tell Dragon everything to begin with. He was just taken aback.“That is strange,” Dragon stated. “Isn’t it your party as well?” Dragon asked.Bowman remained quiet; his mind was on the task they were going to carry out, and in situations like these, Bowman preferred to stay quiet, because it helped him stay focus on the task at hand. • Rise Of The Rightful Heir   A Show For Infuriation

The anger oozing from Darwin emanated in the entire living room and it overpowered whatever emotions Luther and Linnie might have felt watching it.“I think you have destroyed the TV, dad,” Luther said.Darwin whirled around like a wounded monster and charged at Luther. “Are you daft or were you not watching the TV?!” Darwin asked Luther angrily, droplets of saliva flying from his mouth; he was extremely furious.“Well, that is not enough to destroy the TV, is it? It didn’t do anything wrong,” Luther said flippantly, making Darwin more aggravated.Linnie was certain that Darwin would hav

Laxus did not waste time after his lengthy discussion with Bowman whom he now greatly regarded, and as Bowman even gave his consent, Laxus didn’t hold back.He left his office and went to meet Nessy at the hamburger store. The hamburger store launching was the next day, after which they would travel for the Zayomi contract, and Laxus wanted to fix everything. Another thing that boosted his confidence was the fact that Bowman assured him that Darwin had been taken care of, and he would not be going on with the lawsuit anymore.“How did you do it?” Laxus had asked, believing Bowman completely.“That is not something you should worry yourself about. All you need to do is get everything set from your own end; you are not going to be facing any hindrances or adversity,” Bowman had assured him.Bowman never told Laxus how he went about these things, and it made Laxus worried and surprised, especially being that it involved someone as powerful and controlling as Darwin, but at the same time

  • A Firm Decision

The first thing Laxus did in the morning after his routine of going about and checking around was to call Bridget into his office.“Sir, you have a meeting by…” Bridget started, but Laxus stopped her immediately.“I didn’t call you so that you could read my schedule to me, Bridget, and for today, you can simply send it to my mail and set a reminder so that I will get it from here,” Laxus said.He could not even bring himself to be as friendly as he was with Bridget; maybe he would be after he was done addressing the issue, but he wanted to get it done and over with.Bridget seemed surprised, because Laxus had never been this way towards her. She also noticed that he was somewhat cold towards her when he arrived at work this morning. His cordiality just seemed too formal and stiff.“Have I done something wrong, sir?” Bridget asked, her heart skipping a bit.“Have you booked the flight for this week that I asked you to?” Laxus asked, even though it wasn’t exactly what he wanted to talk

  • Abrupt Change Of Mind

Linnie could hardly make out what happened the night before. Even when she had managed to get home and tried to tall to Luther, which was obviously pointless because he was angry as hell over what Linnie knew nothing about, it yielded to nothing.“Something is wrong,” Linnie kept telling herself all night.First of all, why did Darwin ask his convoy to leave without him? He obviously wanted to deceive people into thinking that he had left, but all for what? Linnie’s suspicions have been confirmed; he was definitely hiding something in his office. Then she remembered the box that was snatched from Laxus. The one the detective told her that Luther handed over to his father.“He is hiding that box in his office,” Linnie pondered to herself, alone in her bedroom all night. She did not sleep a wink at all, because after realizing that Darwin had to be hiding the box in his office, and also telling herself that she would do anything to find out about it, Linnie then began to think about the

  • Final Warning

Darwin put the box on his desk and looked at it for some minutes. He just stared at it, allowing his mind to go blank for some seconds. Till now, he had not been able to open it. He had thought of giving it to a blacksmith to break the locks so just that he could see what was in it that the bloody old woman kept hidden from everyone, but then again, Darwin might get caught in the process. Besides, there was no reason to hurry up with it, especially now that his hands were full with other important things, like finding ways to bring Laxus down. He had all the time in the world to open it. The only persons that knew that the box was with him were Luther and Detective George, and he trusted them to keep their mouths shut. And he was the only one who knew that the box was in this very building and in his office.Darwin had contemplated carrying it to his house, but he was always having whores over, and as such, he did not want to take the risk of any of them snooping around. • A Brother's Warning Visit

It had been a long day for Laxus, but one thing he was grateful for was that he had been able to warn Linnie off. Nevertheless, he had also instructed one of bodyguards to hang around Nessy’s apartment just in case Linnie tried to be stubborn, because she was not to be trusted. He had given the bodyguard a firm instruction to not only prevent anyone strange from gaining access into the apartment, but also informing him immediately. Laxus would do anything to keep Nessy safe.Albeit, Nessy was not aware of the bodyguard arrangement.Laxus didn’t get the chance to go back to the office and speak to Bridget about what Nessy said about her, but he could always do that the next day. For now, Laxus wanted to just have his dinner and rest fully. However, that seemed impossible when Laxus got the alarm; someone new had approached his gate.Laxus called his security instantly.“Who is that?” Laxus asked.“He says his name is Luther Kinkaid, sir,” his security answered, taking Laxus aback.“Are

  • The Meet-Up

Laxus waited for Linnie at the location he sent to her. It was a private place, and because of his standing in the city, he was assured of privacy.Laxus would not have demanded for privacy in this manner, but he needed to address and correct things. He also knew that he should have just gone about this the legal way, but judging by Darwin’s lawsuit threat, if he went right ahead with legal restriction orders, they might twist the narrative and say that Laxus was only doing it because of what he was being accused of, and knowing how gullible the public were, they would buy it hook, line, and sinker.Laxus knew without a doubt that Linnie would show up and show he waited for her patiently, and he was right; Linnie walked right in a couple of minutes later. She had a smile on her face, but as Laxus set his eyes on her, his stomach recoiled in anger.“Have you ordered something for me? You have always known what I like and gotten it correctly,” Linnie said sweetly.Laxus was only having

  • Still Getting The Shitty Treatment

Darwin, Luther, and Linnie, along with the other members of the board spent ample time having a meeting in the conference room where Luther made some presentations as well as Linnie. One thing Linnie observed was how well Luther presented the assignment given to him.Linnie knew her husband. First of all, regardless of the fact that he now showed up at the company every day without fail, he did not really give a shit about Kinkaid Distillery Company. In fact, he was now extremely showing signs of dedication and commitment simply because she had been hired. Secondly, he was not that smart. If Laxus had done the presentation, Linnie would have been wowed by the excellence, but not Luther Kinkaid.Everyone was impressed, but Linnie was skeptical.“Well, the meeting is over now,” Darwin began after all said and done. “Everyone should please take their jobs seriously and ensure that we are on board. This company must be ranked as the best distillery company in the city, and no other compan

  • Keep Him In The Dark

When Bowman had gone into the Doctor’s office, Dragon had eavesdropped. He wasn’t usually a man to do something like that, but with the way Bowman dismissed Laxus and spoke to the doctor, even with the way they had gone into his office, Dragon was certain that something was off.More importantly, Dragon was worried about Bowman. He had noticed some changes in Bowman recently even though he

Nessy immediately shook her head the moment the thought came; it was totally wrong of her to come to such a conclusion. Besides, her own father also gave her away to a total stranger, and up till this very moment, neither of her parents had made any attempt to find or reach Nessy.“I am sorry you had to go through all that,” Nessy said, and she meant it.She knew exactly what it felt like to be betrayed and hurt by people you loved and cherished, especially family members.“There is no need for you to feel sorry for me,” Laxus said tightly. “I do not regret anything that has happened in the past, because it has helped me become who I am today,” Laxus added.Nessy nodded in agreement. She could tell that the entire situation was still affecting Laxus, whether or not he liked to admit it. One thing that Nessy knew for sure was that if anyone was truly over their past, they would not be angry and hurt when the conversation was brought up.“And I didn’t tell you any of this so that you wo
