Chapter 18: A debtor

By the time Smith got home, he was so tired and weak that he could barely do anything. He looked miserable. Rodriguez couldn't hide the contempt in their eyes when he walked into the house.

"Where are you coming from by this time of the day, you miserable live-in son-in-law?" Olivia didn't hide the anger and hatred in her voice as she mocked him.

"What do you expect from a wretched son-in-law like you? You must be outside the street begging for food," she said, and the family members present even the domestic staff laughed at him.

"I wonder how Lady Georgia ended up with a man like him,"

"She must be unlucky to have someone like him as a husband." Olivia got angry when she heard these remarks from the family members who came to visit them.

This made her determined to separate her daughter from an unwanted person like him. Different rich men have their eyes on Georgia, so she believed if her daughter divorced Smith then a lot of men would come rushing to her.
