What!?
Smith stared at her with a surprised expression, taken aback by her action. She hugged him with tears rolling down from her eyes. His shoulder was drained with her tears but he didn't mind it. He couldn't hide the shock after she hugged him.
Why wouldn't he be surprised? This was the first time he'd hugged her apart from the aisle of their wedding where they pretended to love each other.
He breathed in as her fragrance hit her nose. He made use of the opportunity and hugged her back even though he was somehow reluctant.
She is his wife, right? He asked himself as he began to feel guilty for hugging her back in such a state. He felt like he was taking advantage of her.
He stared at her and stroked her hair for a while until she sniffed back a bead of tears and stepped backward.
Though the hug wasn't long, it felt so real and good that he wish she didn't stop hugging him.
"What's wrong?" He managed to ask after stretching out a white handkerchief to her.
"Thanks," she muttered, collected the handkerchief from him, and cleaned the tears on her face.
"What happened to you?" He asked in a low tone as he walked closer to her.
Georgia raised her head and looked up for a while unaware of what to tell him.
How could she explain to him that she was asked to abort his unborn baby? Though she doesn't love him, she can't afford to shed the blood of an unborn child.
Smith noticed the look on her face but he didn't understand any bit of it. All he could see on her face was sadness and depression.
It seems something is bothering her.
"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine," she muttered with a sigh as she discarded the handkerchief into a trash bin.
He summoned and proceed further to ask. "Are you sure? You don't look good to me,"
She yelled out frustratingly. "I said I'm fine. You don't need to interfere in my life,"
He nodded his head gently with a solemn look and stepped aside a bit. She stared at him and shook her head with a sigh.
She knows he's just worried about her and she shouldn't have hurt his feelings but she thinks that's the best thing to do about her.
"I'm sorry for yelling at you," she muttered and climbed on the bed.
Did she just apologize? Not only was he surprised by her apology, but he was also shocked by her recent behavior.
Not only did she ask him to sleep on the king-sized bed yesterday, but she also hugged him today. He couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with her.
He believed that she was only sad or depressed that's why she seems to be close to him recently. He didn't want to keep his hope high that she was beginning to reciprocate his feelings.
But what could have made her sad? This question rang in his mind.
He was brought out of his thoughts by the ringing tone of Georgia's phone. He watched as she stared at the called ID and reluctantly picked it up.
"What is it, mum?" She asked in a cold and hostile tone.
"Come to the house right now!"
"But mother…" her mother interrupted her and said curtly.
"Don't make me angry at you. Come right now! Me and your dad want to have a word with you,"
Smith who was standing at a corner couldn't help but hear the fierce voice of Olivia which resounded faintly in his ears because of the distance.
Georgia shook her head with a sigh and simply said. "Fine, I'll be there with you soon,"
She dropped her phone on the comfy bed and let out an exasperated sigh. She knows why her parents want to see her.
They want to see her because of the issue she had with her grandma. Though she doesn't want to go, she knows she didn't have a choice and she can't hide forever.
She staggered back to her feet with a fainted look, glanced at Smith, and walked out of the room.
Smith shook his head with a sigh as he stared at her departing figure. He hopes she will heal from whatever is bothering her. He thought as he returned to the bed.
He has been sleeping on the bed since she once allowed him. He climbed on the bed and placed his head on the soft pillow.
He rolled countlessly on the bed as he couldn't catch a sleep. He stood up from the bed and walked out of the house.
He decided to spend some time outside the house in the garden. A few minutes after staying in the garden, he stood up from the chair and left the garden.
He decided to follow his instincts and take a stroll to his wife's parents and his in-laws' house.
Her parents have a small house even though it wasn't in the family's beautiful Villa.

Georgia knocked at the door and the door pulled open revealing her mother like she'd been expecting her earlier. Her mother, Olivia, dragged her into a room and slammed the door shut with a loud bang. She forgot to lock the room.
"What is it, mum?" She asked in a cold tone, uninterested in whatever her mother had to say.
"What is the meaning of what happened over there the other time?" Olivia asked in a cold and dominant voice.
She shook her head with a sigh and muttered in a low tone. "I'm sorry Mum,"
"This is not the time to beg me. You've to tell me the reason why you'd to become pregnant for Smith,"
"Why Smith of all people?" Her mother asked in an angry tone.
She's so angry and disappointed in Georgia. She was highly praised for being pregnant with her good-for-nothing contract husband she was planning to replace.
It's a slap on the face that her daughter was married to a good-for-nothing live-in son-in-law, it's more slap on the face that she's pregnant for Smith.
"I never wanted it to happen. It was a mistake,"
"Fine. We've heard it's a mistake, what do you want to do about it?" Her father, Joseph, for the first time chirped in.
"I can't possibly do anything about it. I'll just leave his baby inside of me," she said and rubbed her hand on her stomach.
Her mother's eyes fumed with anger and she flared up. "What are you saying, Georgia?"
"How dare you say such a thing, huh? You've to abort this child, Georgia," her mother said, and she stared at her mother in shock.
"What! You're also in support of Grandma's opinion?" She asked, and her mother scoffed.
"Of course, I'm in support of whatever she wants. You'll have to abort this pregnancy," her mother said indifferently, her voice cold and hostile.
She meant every single of her words.
Her heart shook with sadness as she listened to her mother's heartbreaking words. Her mother is ordering her to abort Smith's unborn child just to please her grandma, Madam Kate.
"Your mother is right," Joseph said.
"Nothing both of you or anyone would say that would change my mind," she said firmly.
"Why are you so keen on tarnishing the image of the Rodriguez family?" Her mother didn't find her pain and sadness.
"Do you mean I'm tarnishing the image of the family by keeping his Smith unborn child?" She asked heartbreakingly.
"Yes, it is," her mother replied sternly.
"That's why you'll have to abort Smith's unborn child inside of you. Your grandma is angry and that's the only way you can do to make her forgive you,"
She swallowed hard and struggled to say.
"If keeping Smith unborn inside fighting against the whole family and tarnishing the image of the family then I don't care,"
Olivia stared at her daughter in shock, taken aback by her words. Her daughter was talking back to her because of her so-called husband, Smith.
She's going to kill him if she puts her hand on her hand. Why can't her daughter understand? She needs to know she doesn't have a choice. Madam Kate isn't in support of her pregnancy, and she's to be the laughingstock of the town.
She clenched her fist with an angry look on her face and said. "This is not your own choice to make. You've to abide by your grandma's words and abort Smith's unborn child inside you,"
"Mum…" Georgia suddenly stopped as a familiar masculine loud and dominant voice interrupted her.
"Abort whose child!?"
They turned their gazes to the door and their eyes widened in shock at the person standing before them in front of the door entrance with an angry look on his face.
Smith shook his head with a sigh as he stared at the old and outdated design of his in-law house. It's hard to believe that the second daughter of Madam Kate could be living in such a place. This is one of the reasons Georgia's mother, Olivia, is desperate to marry someone rich who can afford to buy her a good house. He shoved his hand inside his pocket as he passed through the hallway that led to their house. He wanted to turn and leave when he remembered how they humiliated him in the presence of Edward just because he couldn't visit and greet them with gifts. He shoved the thought away from his mind. He believed they might change since their daughter seems to be becoming close to him. And if they humiliated him like they used to, he would not take it to his heart since he's used to their insult and abuse all day. He suddenly stopped as he came closer to their room. He heard some familiar voices oozing from the house. He knew something could be wrong though he couldn't tell what
What! A gasp escaped from her mouth and she turned her cold gaze to her mother, Olivia. "What did you just say, Mum?" She asked in a surprised tone. She wanted to know if her mother was joking even though her mother's expression said it all. She was dead serious. "You heard me right baby girl so you should find something to do about this before it gets too late,""And besides, there's nothing you're going to lose if you choose to lose him. He's poor and useless. He's the family dog and good-for-nothing being…""That's enough mum," she growled deeply, and her mother scoffed then crossed her arms under her breasts. She is quite angry that her mother keeps throwing shade at him because he's poor even though he'd been trying his best to satisfy the family in one way or the other. His efforts are quite useless because he isn't rich and comfortable. Though she doesn't like him, she feels bad for him. She shoved off his thought and turned her gaze to her mother with a cold and hostile
Smith gulped down into nothing as he stared at his clothes which were stained by the mud water. He bit her lower lips and narrowed his gaze to Micheal's car which drove off speedily. "I'll make sure you pay for this dearly someday," he muttered beneath as he stared at his dirty shirt. Though he didn't know where the feeling was coming from, he was going to make Micheal and his family suffer most miserably. He can't manage to get to the restaurant dressed in this way. He has to return home and change. He took a deep breath and cursed Micheal inwardly. He clenched his fist with a cold look on my face.He had to cover a few kilometers before he could return. By the time he returned home, his legs burned with excruciating pain. He walked into the compound and passed through the first door where he met Georgia's parents discussing Olivia and Joseph. "What were they discussing?" He asked himself with a confused look as they suddenly jerked up and sat up, clearing their throats nervou
"Sadly, you can't have an abortion because it would damage your womb and you wouldn't be able to give birth in the nearest future,"What! A soft gasp escaped Georgia's lips as the doctor dropped the bombshell. She shifted on her chair uncomfortably as she turned her gaze to the doctor who had a serious look on his face. She was in a daze for a moment. She was taken aback by shock. What is she hearing? How could that be possible?"Are you for real, doctor?" She managed to ask after she recovered from the shock which overwhelmed her. "Yes, Mrs. Georgia. I've been your family doctor for the past ten years so I won't lie to you," she stared at him for a while hoping to find his words funny but she couldn't find it. He looked serious, and she could also sense the sincerity in his voice and eyes. "Check the results yourself if you're doubting me," he said and stretched a printed paper at her. She quickly grabbed the paper from him. She opened the front page and her breath ceased when
"What's the problem?" Georgia opened her eyes and looked up as he retreated and dropped the injection on the wooden table. He didn't answer her. He remained silent until they walked out of his laboratory to his office. "Nothing," he muttered, and she scoffed. "Why did you suddenly stop?" She asked, and he dropped the stethoscope on the table and turned his gaze to her. "I'm sorry the abortion can't be carried out on you at the moment,""Why?" She was confused by the doctor's statement. A few minutes he wanted to abort the unborn child but now he's doing otherwise. "The system doesn't permit me to carry out the abortion today. So if tomorrow is not too far, come as early as possible so I'll abort the child for you,""You can also use that as an opportunity to think about your decision thoroughly. I'll support any decision you make tomorrow," he added, and she scoffed inwardly. "Okay that's fine," she muttered, took her bag, and left the office. She slammed the door shut with a
Georgia shook her head with a sigh as she watched Smith walk out of her office. He slammed the door shut behind his back with a loud bang. He looked sad and heartbroken after she made that statement. She felt bad that she hurt his feelings. She knew what he must have passed through before he could get to her but she felt it wasn't necessary. She doesn't like the idea of him coming to her company. Her colleague and coworkers were going to make her. She does feel embarrassed whenever they walk out together that's why she stopped going out with him. A smile formed on her lips as she sniffed the scent that emitted from the flower he bought for her. It's quite cute of him to leave his work and bring a bouquet for her but she didn't like it. Maybe because he isn't rich enough to satisfy her. Or maybe because she was on the verge of being caught by him. She dropped the bouquet on the table. She let out an exasperated sigh and sat down on the chair. She reached out to the documents Mr.
Smith dropped her gently on the bed and reached out to her bag. He shoved his hand inside her bag and brought out her phone from it. He swiped her phone open and dialed Madam Kate's number. She picked at the third ring. "What do you want, huh?""You've aborted that so-called child, right?"Smith's hand shook in fear as he listened to Madam Kate's cold and fierce tone. The phone fell from his floor and landed on the floor. What! Abortion? But why did she abort the pregnancy? He didn't have much time to think about it. He bit his lower lip and picked up the phone from the floor. He swallowed hard and placed the phone on his ears. "This isn't Georgia. This is Smith, her husband," he said. He heard her gasp over the phone. "So what is it? And why is her phone with you?" She asked. Her voice was filled with anger and hatred. "She's in pain. I returned from work and met her lying on the bed. She's losing so much," he said, and she gasped out in shock. "What happened to her? Why didn'
What!Georgia gasped out in shock. She stared at her grandmother who remained a cold and expressionless look on her face. She looked dead serious. But how is that possible? She aborted the baby, right? She snapped out of her thoughts and turned her gaze to her grandmother. She grunted out in pain as she managed to sit up on the bed. Her grandmother watched her expressionlessly and crossed her arms under her chest. "Tell me you're joking, Grandma," she said, and Madam Kate scoffed. "Does it sound like a joke to you, huh? Or do I look like a clown to you?" Her grandmother asked in a cold tone, and my heart skipped in fear. Her grandmother sounded so serious and sincere, and this means only one thing. She meant every single word she'd uttered. But how is that possible?"How do you expect me to believe you, huh? You were there when he injected me, right?" She asked, and her grandmother confirmed it with a short nod. "You have to believe me. I know it's quite strange and surprising b
