Cordelia stepped forward, her eyes narrowing. "Benjamin is my guest, Raymond. He's here with me."

Raymond's face reddened with anger. "This is supposed to be a family dinner. He doesn't belong here."

"Raymond, enough!" Stella said firmly. "This is our home, and our guests are welcome here.”

Benjamin remained calm, his expression neutral, but the tension in the room was hot.

"Raymond," Cordelia said, her voice steady but cold. "Benjamin is more than just a guest. He's someone who has been there for me when I needed support the most. If you have a problem with that, then maybe you should reconsider what it means to be part of this family.”

Jacob looked at Raymond and asked, "Do you know him?"

Raymond nodded, his expression hard. "Of course, I do. This poor guy—he's supposedly Cordelia's old university mate."

Jacob's gaze shifted to Marshall, his brow furrowed. "I thought this was supposed to be a family dinner. Why is another man with her coming here?"

Marshall gulped, feeling the weig

Everyone's plate was filled with food. Cordelia, maintaining her poise, made sure Benjamin felt included, offering him various dishes and ensuring he felt welcome despite the earlier hostility. Benjamin, grateful for her gesture, smiled and graciously accepted the offerings. “Alright, let's all enjoy now.” Jacob said. Everyone picked up their forks, spoons, and knives, eagerly diving into the sumptuous spread laid out before them. As they began to taste the various dishes, a collective expression of delight spread across their faces. The rich, savory flavors of the Danish and American dishes combined was great. Rhoda took a bite of the succulent roast pork and couldn't help but express her pleasure. "Hmmnn, this is really good," she said, looking at Stella. "Mrs. Hansen, I guess this was directed by you?"Stella smiled warmly, clearly pleased with the compliment. "Of course, I'm a good cook," she replied with a touch of pride.Rhoda nodded appreciatively, her eyes twinkling with a

Cordelia's expression changed, a shadow passing over her face. She took a moment before responding, her voice low but firm. "The reasons are best known to me," she said, her tone brooking no argument. "I don't want to talk about it."Jacob frowned, clearly unsatisfied with her answer, but he nodded, respecting her decision. "I understand, Cordelia," he said. Jacob, though still somewhat displeased by Cordelia's evasive response, decided to probe further, shifting his focus to the man beside her. "So, how did you meet this gentleman?" he asked, referring to Benjamin.Cordelia straightened up, her demeanor softening as she glanced at Benjamin. "We met at university," she began. "Benjamin was one of the few people who genuinely cared about me during a very difficult time in my life. He became my best friend, my confidant.”Benjamin smiled slightly, nodding in agreement. "Cordelia and I bonded over our shared interests and the challenges we both faced. We've been close ever since.”Jacob

"I returned to Copenhagen, but we kept in touch. Long phone calls, letters—this was before emails and texts were a thing, mind you. Eventually, I invited her to visit me in Denmark. She did, and we spent a wonderful week exploring the city and getting to know each other better." He took Stella's hand. "It wasn’t long before I realized I couldn’t imagine my life without her. I proposed during one of our visits to the Danish countryside, and she said yes. We got married shortly after, and she’s been my partner in everything ever since.” Jacob, still holding Stella's hand, smiled proudly. "One thing I can say with absolute certainty is that I have never cheated on my wife. Not once. Stella has been my rock, my partner, and my best friend. We've faced challenges together, and we've celebrated countless joys. There's never been anyone else for me." Stella blushed slightly, squeezing Jacob's hand in return. "And the same goes for me," she added. "We've built our life on trust and mutual r

Jacob's gaze lingered on Cordelia, awaiting her response to his suggestion. All eyes were on Cordelia at that moment, waiting for her response. She frowned, her expression showing clear confusion. "What are you trying to say? I don't understand."Jacob gulped, trying to clarify. "I mean you and Raymond are a good match. Since you're single and he is too, don't you think you both can be a good match? You're not kids anymore, and a relationship approved by both families would be ideal."Cordelia stopped eating and looked up, her tone cold. "I don't think we'll be a good match, nor do I want any relationship with him.”Seated aside, Rose smiled lightly, clearly pleased with Cordelia's answer. Raymond and his father, however, frowned in disappointment."Why, my dear? Is he not good for you? Is there any problem?" Marshall asked, trying to understand."Is this the reason you invited us for dinner? To talk about a relationship between your son and me?" Cordelia's voice was sharp, and the te

"You're a joke, Benjamin," Raymond sneered. "You're not worthy of Cordelia's attention, let alone her love."Benjamin finally caught Raymond's hands mid-push, holding them firmly. It records continuously.”Parker stepped forward. “Would it be possible to review the footage? It might give us a clue as to when your son left and if anyone else was in the area at the time.”“Of course,” Rose said quickly, opening the door wider. “Rudra! The officers need to see the security footage!”A moment later, Rudra Stone appeared in the foyer, his phone still in hand. “The footage? Benjamin glanced at Cipherella, a subtle smile tugging at his lips. “Your hacking will also give us access to incriminating data. If you can tap into phone records, emails—anything tying Darnell to political figures or top officials—we’ll use that as leverage. The more dirt we have, the more isolated he becomes.” “We want to scare off corrupt politicians and bankers who enable him. When they realize we can expose them, they’ll abandon Darnell to protect themselves. That weakens his connections even more.” “While we’re dismantling Darnell’s network,” Benjamin said, nodding at Abdelkarim, “we place you front and center, building alliances with smaller gangs or influential locals who hate Darnell. Show them there’s a better alternative.” “Meanwhile, Cipherella will manage intel—gathering contact info, forging secure communication channels, and ensuring Darnell doesn’t learn too much about us.” “Eventually, we’ll lure him to a vulnerable position—somewhere away from his heavily guarded

To his left, a bowl of Mujadara caught Benjamin’s eye—earthy lentils and rice topped with caramelized onions. Abdelkarim pointed at it. “That’s Mujadara. Simple, but hearty and full of flavor.” He then reached for a bowl of hummus and Baba Ghanoush. “And these are two of our staples—Hummus, made from chickpeas and tahini, and Baba Ghanoush, a smoky eggplant dip,” he said, his p
