Chapter 22All through the night, Liam was up, scrolling through his laptop. He had only closed his eyes for a few minutes an hour before dawn. Not wanting to be late, immediately his alarm clock rang, he jumped off the couch he had fallen asleep on and then hurried towards the bathroom to clean up and within five minutes he was fully ready. Now armed with the evidence, he made his way towards the door and after one last look at his laptop which was lying on the table, he stepped out. “The police station.” He yelled at the chauffeur who had refused to turn off his radio. “Sure, get in. That will cost you a ten dollar bill though.” He replied, increasing the volume of the radio. Staying up all night, coupled with the noise from the radio, Liam was uncomfortable and when he couldn't bear it anymore, he scowled, “Turn it off, my head’s splitting.” Thankfully, the chauffeur did as he was told without a fuss. Chapter 23 The moment Liam saw the black sedan which was packed behind him, he let out a sigh and his hand immediately went into his hair. He was yet to recover from the saga of the previous day but here it was again. Jake, who seems to have an idea of who owned the car, was leaning forward with his hands tucked into his pants. On his face was a slight frown as he wondered what was going on. A few minutes later, Naya stepped out of the car, wearing a bright smile on her face. In contrast to her dishevelled look the previous day, she looked ravishing, coupled with her elegant outfits. Ignoring the others who had their gaze fixed on her, she turned towards Liam and with a commanding tone, she said, “Get in.” Liam scoffed at her words as a frown crept into his face. He was annoyed because of the tone she had used in speaking to him. “Come on.” She said when he wouldn't budge and at the same time stepped aside so he would climb into the car. Chapter 24Taken aback for a moment, Liam didn't say anything, instead he was staring back at her with a raised brow. “Yeah, you heard me.” She affirmed. “Why? Is all these necessary?” He asked, displeased with what was happening. “We already have our marriage certificate, what more is there to prove that we are couples?” He groaned.“Pictures, we don't have pictures together. How then are we going to prove that we are couples.” She countered. Chuckling lightly, Liam turned his head to the side as he bit his bottom lips. Everything was happening so fast leaving him in a daze. “What is the issue now? Is it about your time? Fine! We’re going to spend just two hours out there.” “Indeed.” “Believe me this time around. It was my family who made me go back on my words the previous time. I keep my words and I uphold them.” She rapped. “I don't take pictures.” I snapped at her, returning his gaze back to the window. Chapter 25When they wouldn't come into an agreement, the photographer walked up to them and with his hands crossed on his chest, he asked, “Is anything the matter?” “Not at all.” Naya replied, flashing him a smile and immediately he turned around to leave, she grabbed Liam's arm, “Stop acting weird.” Once again, Liam had no choice but to succumb into respecting her decision. “What are you guys doing? I know you're shy but you need to be sensual okay.” The photographer yelled, taking his camera off his face. “Sensual?” Liam asked, turning in his direction. Not wanting anything that would give them away, Naya pulled him to herself and this time around, she initiated the kiss. At the end of the photo shoot, they gathered all their belongings and then paid for their photos before taking their leave. Now sitting at the back of the car, Liam yawned but Naya, who had keen eyes, saw it and so she leaned towards him. With her brow titled, she asked, “Are you hungry?” Unable to keep it

Chapter 26Immediately he climbed out of Naya’s car, he flagged down a taxi, urging the chauffeur to speed off so she wouldn't have the chance to try talking him into accepting her decision. A few minutes into the drive, he turned around and when he didn't see the black sedan, he relaxed only to return his attention to Rose. He knew she was going to ask where he had been since the previous day and also about the bills which were now settled. At this point, he had nothing to say to her and so he was shifting uneasily in his seat to the extent that the chauffeur noticed it but before he could raise the issue, he scoffed at him. On reaching the hospital, he paid his fare and then began to walk hurriedly into the hospital. When he got to the ward, he was about to push the door in when a nurse walked up to him. Chapter 27.When he had finished propping Rose to get some rest he swirled around but before he could take a step, she held onto his hands. “Are you leaving already?” She asked, peering at him. “No.” he replied with a chuckle as he used his free hand to comb through his hair. When Rose wouldn't let go of his hand, he crouched beside her and then began to run his fingers on her arm, trying to soothe her. “I just wanted to take a walk outside the ward.” “And then you will leave only to return three days later.” She scowled. She didn't want Liam to leave her in the ward all alone, which explains why she was acting up. “I won't. Don't worry, I will stay here until after breakfast tomorrow.” “Really?”“Uhm…” Nodding towards the sofa, he said, “I want to rest my head. I had a really long day.” “Sure.” She replied positively and then let go of his hand. Chapter 28. The journey of going to meet with his mother took more than half an hour. Though exhausted, he didn't say it out, he had to bear since he was curious to learn about his family. Considering the luxury vehicle, he was expecting the cars to head towards one of the most popular estates or the area where the elites in the society lives but instead they skidded into a dirt road. “What's happening here?” He asked with his eyes almost bulging out. He didn't want to believe that they had deceived him only to end up kidnapping him when he fell for their trap. Chapter 29.When the ladies disappeared behind the door, his mother held his hand and then made him sit beside her, intertwining her fingers with her. Instead of his mind running with different ideas like usual, Liam felt a wave of calmness washing through him. It was as if he had known her for a long time and they were just reuniting after being separated for a while. About fifteen minutes later, one of the ladies returned and she did a curt bow, she said, “The table is set for lunch.” Holding his hand, his mother rose and then pulled him up. With her gaze fixed on him, she said, “Let's go have lunch.” “Yeah.” He replied with a nod and together, they made their way towards the dining room. Once again, Liam couldn't help but marvel at the sight of the dining room.
