When Liam got to the police station to pick Alaric up on his request, he saw Carlton once again and the only thing he could make out of the scenario was that he was the brain behind it.

“Here you are.” Alaric chuckled, walking up to him with a grin on his face. “You don't look pleased.” He mouthed, patting his back.

“I'm still trying to wrap my head…” He was still speaking when Alaric hushed him, swirling him in Carlton's direction.

“I always go for the best, you know.” He laughed, Liam joining him with an uneasy tone.

“I will be on my way now.” Carlton said, “Please stay away from trouble, lie low otherwise…”

“Don't lecture me. You were able to pull this off because I mounted pressure on you. For the records, I was the one who freed myself and not the other way around.” Alaric snarled.

Shifting his attention to Liam, he squeezed his shoulder, “What about a drink?”

“Yeah.” Liam had no choice but to give in.
