Unknowingly to Liam, Naya got wind of his presidential visit and ever since then, she had been suspicious. Everyone had kept to themselves so she wouldn't be suspicious of what they were up to but with the presidential visit, she was certain something was going on under her nose. With her hands resting on her thigh, she was staring at the screen of her laptop, trying to get lost in the article she was reading. The article didn't help matters since it was related to AI tech, taking her mind back to Liam and the visit. During dinner that day, Rose decided to share her experiences at school on the table but just when she was about to get to the climax of her tale, Naya cut in. Clearing her throat, she made sure four pairs of eyes were staring back at her before she decided to speak, “What are you guys up to? And don't you try to deceive me.” She said with a warning tone, her gaze on Liam. “What are you talking about?” Rose asked, exchanging glances between her and Liam who was swir
Ever since Alaric left the cafe, he had been pondering on Liam's words of him being among the test objects and as a pawn in the president’s game. Shaking his head, he smacked his lips as he plopped on the couch he had been occupying. For over half an hour now, this had been his routine and it seemed it wasn't going to stop anytime soon. “Ugh! This is sickening.” He muttered, pushing his hand into his hair as he tugged on it. Unable to keep still, he made his way to his bar, downing glasses after glasses of liquor, trying to take his mind off Liam's words but it kept replaying in his head. “What if it turns out to be true? Liam isn't good at making up stories, I doubt he will ever do that.” He muttered, refilling his glass. Just when he was about to down the content, he remembered Sam and at once he called out to him. Unlike before when running footsteps will follow his call, it was the echo of his voice that responded. He didn't think of it at first until he called for four st
At first, Alaric didn't think anything about the blurred part of the video. It was when he remembered the paramedics who remained in the scene that was when he was triggered. Rising from the couch he was occupying suddenly with his hand resting on his waist, he began staring into space as his head spiraled with different thoughts. “Someone must have come for him. There is no way the paramedics will remain in a spot when someone is dying.” He muttered, reaching out for his phone on the arm of the couch. Dialing a contact, he placed his phone against his ear but the call didn't go through, frustrating him even further. With his hand stuck up in his hair,he began to pace around only to storm out of the living room the next minute. On arrival at the airport, it was like nothing had even happened there an hour ago and so instead of making enquiries, he took his leave. Now seated behind the steering wheel of his car, he had a hand supporting his chin while the other was on the wheel.
With the help of Liam, Kaylan was able to gain access to the biotechnology company as a janitor in charge of the wards. It was Rose who had hacked the database and then inputted her name, taking out another person's name to avoid being detected. At the moment, Kaylan was looking around the large building, holding onto her janitor's cart.It wasn't like she was interested in the aesthetics of the building, all she wanted was to get the attention of passersby so she could strike up a conversation. Just when she thought that wasn't going to happen, she bumped into Harrison, one of the doctors who was making his rounds that morning. “Oh dear, I’m sorry.” She muttered, grabbing her cart handle in a bid to scurry off but he stopped her. “Are you okay, it seems there are a lot of things running on your mind.” He commented, peering into her eyes. While still there, he checked her eyes, lips and skin color like he was checking on a patient.“Here, see me before you leave for home.” He sa
“Oh no!” She squirmed internally as her legs and whole body trembled. It was as if she was going to pass out the next second. Alaric on the other hand didn't stop staring at her like she was a piece for auction in a bidding contest.Kaylan knew Alaric before now but this was their first physical meeting, thanks to his dealings that were exposed to the public. She didn't need anyone to tell her she was meeting with a dangerous man. His aura and everything about him screamed danger, prompting her to scream too but she couldn't even make a sound. “You seem to have a lot of time on your hand.” He finally broke the silence but that didn't make Kaylan relieved even for a second. She felt blood draining from her, as the grip on her phone weakend. Just when she was about to pass out in fright, Alaric's phone began to buzz in his pocket and he pulled it out. He took a few steps away from her, blocking her path in the process but nevertheless, she let out the breath she had been holding i
With her headphones plugged in, Rose sat behind the screens which were fixed in her bedroom, her eyes moving from one camera to the other as she tried to detect anything fishy. Kaylan had helped in placing cameras in strategic places in the building so they would also have access to what was going on. “Ugh! It's so boring here.” She muttered, yawning as she tilted her head to the side. It wasn't up to five seconds when she took her gaze off the screen that they went off suddenly. Thinking it was a disruption in the connection, she tried to fix it but it was to no avail. “Dammit!” She sucked her teeth, slamming her hand against the table as she fumed with anger. Stepping out of her room, she made her way straight to the guardrail, “Hey! The cameras went off.” Immediately Giovanni and Dave heard that, they left what they were doing and rushed to her room. Just like she tried fixing it, they attempted the same thing but it was to no avail. “I bet the cameras have been detected.”
For the next few minutes, Kaylan kept exchanging words to the men who were patient with her as she waited for any car to pass by but it seemed that wasn't going to happen. “I’m going to call the police right away and get you sued.” She scowled, picking up her phone to make the call only to discover that there was no service. The look on her face made the men burst into a mocking laughter as she tried to get a hang of what was happening but it was to no avail. She was still trying to wrap her head around the situation when one of the men yanked the door open. He didn't have to say anything to her before she stumbled out of the car, cold sweat breaking out of her pores. Why aren't there any cars for miles? — She thought, staring at her phone which was almost useless. While others checked her car, one of the men walked up to her, placing his hand on her shoulder and with a smirk, he said, “You shouldn't engage yourself in dangerous stuff.” “Let go of me.” She tried to pull away fr
Seething with anger, Alaric stormed out of his home office only to storm back in almost immediately. His men who were frightened all held their breath as no one dared to question him. Karl had called him concerning Kaylan after he had informed him of the presence of a spy. At the moment, Alaric didn't know what to do as he was lost and frustrated. If he had known, he wouldn't have told Karl about Kaylan until he had caught her red handed. “Sir, is there anything we can do to help?” A bold guard asked and without thinking twice, Alaric sent the nib of his pen into his neck. Sucking his teeth in anger, he stormed out finally and then drove to the Presidential Villa where Karl was currently waiting for him. Curious to find out the outcome of his investigation, Karl said, “Can I get the details already?” When Alaric didn't say a word to him, he tilted his head to the side, his whole gaze fixated on him, still yet, Alaric wouldn't say anything. “What happened?” Karl asked with a sli
