Chapter 58Having no answer to his question, Naya was just staring back at him, her lips quivering as she tried to come up with an answer. That morning after he had rushed out, she was enraged and so her mind began to run haywire, cooking up different scenarios for her and when she could bear it anymore, she decided to follow after him. She was curious and wanted to find out what he was really up to. Seeing Liam's angry stare, she couldn't bring herself to give him a response because she feared it was going to skyrocket his anger to the point where he wouldn't be able to control himself anymore. Biting her lips she bent her head, “I'm sorry.” “I didn't ask for your apology. I just want to know your reasons… reasons why you decided to tail me. It's not as if I told a lie, right from the very beginning, I had been always transparent with you… seems like you're still having a hard time trusting me.” He said with a shrug. Still having her head bowed to the ground, Naya let out a sigh
Chapter 59The next day, Naya woke up with a splitting headache which made her grab her head with both hands as she winced in pain. For more than five minutes, she remained in one spot, trying to remember the event of the previous night but her head was blank. Reaching out for her phone on the lamp stand, she turned it on only to see a message from Liam and at once she clicked it. 'Some hangover medicine is on the table.’ — the message read. Without giving it a second thought, she made her way towards the table and shoved the drugs down her throat before emptying the bottle of water down her gullet. Though her splitting headache was abated she was still under the effect of the drug that she had to walk slowly towards her bed and then slump on it with a thud. The next time she woke up, it was already past eight am and once again on her study table was a tray of food. She didn't need anyone to tell her it was all Liam's handiwork and so she immediately reached out for it. Shoving
Chapter 60To this, Naya didn't give a response, instead she clenched her fists tightly with her head buried to the floor. Now laughing, Sandra rose from the arm of the couch and then returned to the couch she had been occupying. Flipping through her invitation cards, she scrunched her brows as if she was looking for something and after what seemed like forever, she snapped her head up and with her gaze narrowed on Naya, she smacked her lips. “I don't have a card to spare with that lowlife.” She mused and at once Sam and Nathan burst into a mocking laughter. They were so happy that Sandra didn't try to take Naya's side even for a second. “He wouldn't even be allowed to cross the gate.” Nathan said. “Exactly! Why should I spare him a card then?” She asked with a shrill voice and once again the trio burst into a mocking laughter.Sitting there, Naya clenched her fists more tightly as she glared at them. She was expecting her grandmother who was sitting in the middle of the living r
Chapter 61When Naya told Liam about what had ensued that morning while they were having dinner, Liam couldn't help but to laugh out loud even when she didn't find it funny. She kept on frowning while Liam on the other hand couldn't control his emotions. He was glad she had shut Sandra up otherwise he was certain the trend would continue. “It's not funny, I really wonder why you're laughing now.” Naya said, rolling her eyes before she took a long drink from her glass. Tilting her head to the side, she let out a low sigh before returning her attention to Liam who was staring at her. “Is it really funny?” She asked, peering at his face carefully as if she was studying a specimen. “Of course it is. I wonder what your cousins derive from making fun of you.” He added with a chuckle while she just looked on, her hands wrapped across her chest. When she couldn't swallow the question budging her anymore, she leaned towards him and with her hands clasped, she asked, “How in heaven's name
Chapter 62With her hands folded across her chest and her brows scrunched up in disgust, Naya shook her head sideways. They had finished shopping for her party dress about half an hour ago and now it was Liam's turn.“Are you saying I should go back in there and change my clothes for the hundredth time?” He asked. This time around, he didn't bother to hide his displeasure, it was as if the next minute, he was going to explode with anger. “Stop whining, will you?” Naya shot back with a little chuckle while he tossed his head to the side, face palming himself and at the same wishing he did his private shopping while she was doing hers. “You're a pain in the ass.” He said under his breath while Naya just laughed. The shopping which she thought was going to be boring had turned out to be something she never expected. Bonding with Liam this way made her forget about her worries and she didn't want it to stop even for a second. “If you refuse this time around, I will have no choice but
Chapter 63Titling his head to the side, Silvan wanted to shut her up but he couldn't bring himself to do so. As much as he was convinced that Sandra had put up the show earlier, he was also tempted to believe that they were couples. All the while he was thinking they were friends and nothing more but with Sandra and Lily speaking about marriage to Liam, he became confused. Clearing his throat to get Lily's attention, he had his middle finger under his nostrils and when she finally turned towards him, he cleared his throat before saying, “Are you certain with what you're saying?” He asked, staring intently at her. “Of course… don't tell me you didn't…” Lily was still speaking with her tone bursting with excitement since she already got the needed attention but her joy was cut short when Sandra joined them..Now standing beside Silvan just like she had always wanted since he had a long crush on him, she placed her hand on his shoulder and then leaned towards him, “She is right.” St
Chapter 64Still struggling to reach out to her despite his blurry vision, Liam burped, holding the edge of the table for support as he squinted. Suddenly, his phone fell through his hand into the ground and with a low sigh, he rested his head against the table, shutting his eyes tightly. This helped a bit but the next second when he opened his eyes, the pains came rushing in that he had to bite his lower lips as he let out a low growl of discomfort. The loud music that was blaring from the speakers and the merry voice wasn't helping matters a bit. It was as if the next minute he was going to pass out but he held on. Naya was missing, that was the topmost issue on his mind. The more he thought about it, the more scared he became. Granny Elena had asked both of them to attend her friend's party only for her granddaughter to go missing, of course, he was in big trouble. Nathan and Sam will also get the opportunity they had been waiting for to lash him and this time around since h
Chapter 65While all these were going on, Sandra, Silvan, and Sam, the orchestrator of the whole chaos were in the hall, waiting for the right time for them to launch their plans.Immediately the waiter whom they had asked to do the job walked up to them with a smile etched on his lips, they became pumped up, ready to go ahead with the next phase of their plan.Blinded with rage, Silvan had suggested to Sam and Sandra to do something to Liam and they both accepted. Naya was involved in this because Sandra wanted to get a pound of her flesh and Sam wanted to make Granny Elena withdraw her offer of giving her a spot in the family company. “Ready?” Silvan asked and at once Sandra nodded. Pulling herself up, she walked up to the podium and then grabbed a microphone. When all attention was turned in her direction, she began to sob uncontrollably, making everyone present to be worried. She kept on with this act for a while before she finally announced to the guest that Liam and Naya had
