Chapter 72

Jake began to tremble all of a sudden. He was scared to even stare at the screen since they had just two minutes left before the timer went off.

Even before the result was announced, he had begun to feel like a failure and was already facepalming himself for getting too involved in the competition only to lose with just a point.

Nudging him, Liam tried to get his attention but he ignored him totally. He felt he was the one who had made them loose and Liam was about to chide him for it.

“Cut it man.” Liam chided, hitting his shoulder slightly.

Just as Jake raised his head, the timer went off and he sank into his seat with his head buried to the floor. Now worried that something had happened to him, Liam held his shoulder.

“What is it?” Liam asked, shaking his shoulders. Amidst the noise in the hall, he was more concerned about how his friend was faring and was getting scared that something had gone wrong.
