"Hey!!"
"Stop right there!!"
Several men chased after a young girl through the alley and soon entered the open street.
"Huh?" Hearing the sounds of footsteps and heavy breathing, Ash turned around to know what was happening when a girl ran past and pushed him off the road.
"Hey, what the hell?" Ash shouted out to her.
"Sorry," she replied as she continued running.
Ash looked back at the small figure running away from the harm he couldn't quite see. For a second the way she ran looked familiar and her voice too.
As he turned to follow her, some men pushed past him, running after the girl, which infuriated him.
The girl ran, dodged, and jumped over several people and obstacles alike as she tried to escape the men.
After creating a distance between them, she rushed into an alley to hide from them and catch her breath.
After several minutes, she thought she had escaped them and decided to check.
The minute she looked out of the street, one of the men grabbed her by the neck and lifted her above the ground.
"I finally found you, you bitch," the man chuckled.
"Don't worry it's just me, the rest ran off to look for you in the nearby areas," he continued.
"Before they come back, I'll make sure to have lots of fun with you," a wide grin spread across his almost face.
The girl couldn't help but struggle against the strength behind his hand as he kept choking her.
She tried hitting him but her hands weren't long enough to reach.
He soon shoved her, head first, into the nearby wall as he pinned her hands behind her back.
"L-let me go, you are hurting me" she yelled while trying to resist.
"Shut your damn mouth, bitch. This will teach you a lesson not to mess with us," the man replied.
"Hey, she said you're hurting her," a lone figure tapped the man on his shoulders as undid his zipper.
‘I knew it, it is her.’
‘Back then when I first ran into her, she was all alone, scared, and beat up. She looked like she had escaped an angry mob or something.’
‘But like her, I was trying to escape a horde of zombies with a couple of my friends.’
‘The next time I saw her again, she had grown very powerful. Powerful enough to destroy several hordes of zombies without breaking a sweat.’
‘ There's no way I could forget that face and voice, and now she's in trouble.’
"Hey, she said you're hurting her," Ash tapped on the man's shoulder.
"Oh yeah, what're you gonna do about it?" The man replied, totally ignorant of the person behind him.
"Turn around," Ash requested.
"Huh?" As he turned round to face the Ash, a kick was sent straight into his gut.
The man groaned hard as he crashed several meters away from him.
As Ash got closer to the man, the slightly lit alley began to reveal his face to him.
Ash had managed to get to the alley in time before something bad happened to the girl.
The girl quickly rushed and stood behind Ash, breathing heavily.
"W-who are you?" The man asked.
"That's none of your business," Ash replied.
"Who the fuck are you?" The man shouted with fear drawn all over his face.
"Don't mess with me kid, I swear I'll kill you if you do,"
"Oh yeah, how do you plan to do that? Last time I checked, you're the one on the floor," Ash examined the man with a disgusted look as his friends came rushing from behind.
"Hey what's going on here," several men walked in on them.
Ash turned around to meet the same men who pushed him off the road.
"Who's this guy?" The first man stepped in and asked. "And how come he's the one with the girl, Mark?" He questioned the man on the floor.
"This guy knocked me off as soon as I grabbed her," he responded as he stood up.
"And who is he?" The man asked again.
"I don't know boss,"
"Listen, boy, we only want the girl behind you, hand her over and no one has to get hurt," he threatened.
"And what if I refuse?" Ash asked.
After hearing his response, the men chuckled together in unison.
"Get him!!" The man ordered to his comrades.
"Get back," Ash whispered to the girl behind him as he began to anticipate their attacks.
The first man charged at Ash without any proper stance.
Immediately, he had his face slammed into the wall with a left roundhouse kick from Ash.
Following him was one of the lackeys of the man, who had the same size. The man threw an overhand punch but Ash parried quickly.
The man cut again from the side, and Ash again parried it.
He then bounced around for some time before jabbing at Ash.
Instinctively, Ash dodged every one of them as he backed away slowly from him.
He soon hit his back against the wall unknowingly, when the man noticed this opportunity, he charged at him since he had no space left to dodge.
But unfortunately, Ash was quick enough to throw a haymaker punch at him, which took him off his feet and into the garbage cans close by.
"Ugh," he grunted as he crashed into the garbage cans.
After that, Mark, who had been beaten before stood up and charged back at Ash as soon as a few of his gang got beat up.
With his fist tightened, he attacked Ash from behind, but Ash was quick enough to dodge.
As soon as Ash dodged the attack, he gave him a kick behind his knee, making him drop to the ground.
Following that, Ash gave him a hard knock to the chin with his knee and he turned around to welcome the next enemy.
"You bastard," the three other men rushed at Ash together and one by one they had their asses handed to them easily.
"I knew you guys were nothing but mere disappointments to me," their leader who stood back scoffed out in annoyance.
He then drew out a pocket knife as he got closer to Ash.
Ash felt his senses heightened as the man got closer.
"Allow me to tell you my name," the man smiled, feeling confident.
"Why would I need to know your name?" Ash asked while cautiously watching him.
"Well... You need to know the person who will kill you,"
‘What kind of moron is this? He hasn't even attacked and he's going on about killing me?’
"The name's Gram, Edward Gram,"
“When facing an opponent up front, you have to be on high alert,”“They could be weak or strong, but you don't want to take that chance,” a slim but well-built man wearing a faded lemon top with ash trousers stood in front of Ash.He looked like he was giving him a combat lesson, seeing as they both stood in a boxing ring.“Oh, so um... Ramsey?” Feeling lost, Ash tried to ask a question but was cut short.“You have to immediately assume your best defensive stance,” the man continued.“You never know what might happen next, so you have to be prepared,”Ash immediately thought of a scene from his past as he saw Gram standing before him.He brought both of his fists towards his chin as slightly moved back.Immediately, Gram thrust his knife toward Ash, aiming for his chest.“When a person comes at you with, let's say a punch, or maybe even a knife or sword, you must be sharp enough to see it coming and immediately evade it,”“When I say evade, I don't mean fully dodge the attack, it's im
"I will at least kill one of you before going down!!" The man yelled out as he got closer to them. His grip on the knife tightened as he thrust it through the air, aiming at the girl.'No matter how fast he is, he can not counter me. So the least, he will try to jump in front of the knife in other to protect her,' the man thought within.Just as he predicted, Ash got in front of the knife while trying to protect the girl but..."Ahhh," the man grunted hard as he got slammed to the ground by several police officers."What the" the man questioned."Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to tell you that I already called the cops before getting to this alley," Ash explained."It's not right for several men to chase after a young girl, so I called the cops as I trailed you guys here," "Thank you, we will handle it from here," one of the officers bowed as he gave the order to round up the criminals.Soon, Ash and the girl walked out of the alley unscratched.****Three weeks had passed since the inciden
'Is this real? Is the person I'm seeing before my eyes, really?'Ash kept questioning his thoughts as he sat in the next seat close to his younger brother at the dinner table. The young boy laughed, smiled, and spoke softly in front of John and Mary Greyhart. Unlike Ash, his hair was short and well-combed to his side. He was a bit lanky as well but in terms of facial beauty, Ash won the competition. Both his iris and pupil were both black but a bit different in terms of darkness. They all sat together at the dinner table as they had their dinner. 'Why did they bring him over to this place? We are not supposed to meet until later after the apocalypse.'"Umm..." Ash interrupted their discussion."What made you change your mind?" He asked."Well, we figured since you won't talk to us, or you're probably angry we refused you to see your brother, that it would be nice to surprise you with a visit from him," John answered after sipping off his glass of wine."Shouldn't you be happy he's h
Ash couldn't believe his eyes, as he fell into the hole, his head went blank as he saw himself go down.'Am I- going to die like this?" A single thought raced across his mind."I got you," a man quickly grabbed onto his hands before he fell deeper into the hole.Feeling shocked and relieved at the same time, he managed to pull himself out together with help from several other people including the man."Thank you, for saving me," Ash breathed out as both of them kept breathing heavily."Don't sweat it, kid," the man replied."Just glad you didn't get squashed with those cars and all," another person added.Ash looked back at the hole he just came out of, he watched the mixture of cars and debris get swallowed up into the hole as if it was a black hole.Soon he stood up and thanked everyone, and then continued on his way. Finally, he had gotten to the corner of the street leading to his house. His face became bright as he kept running. When he got t the supposed location of his house, w
"Come this way ma'am," a soldier ordered Mary Greyhart, who had been checked by security to step into the elevator, along with her husband, John. They were inside the company building Ash's father owned. The building had a few cracks on the wall and debris on the ground, all from the previous quakes that had happened."Please be careful with her, we just got separated from our boys, so she's having it rough," John explained as he pleased with the security man to go easy on her."I understand sir, more assistance will arrive in the day to get look for them," the soldier assured and then walked away.As soon as she got into the elevator, it closed, and immediately started taking them to the top floor."Let's just hope Kover can locate his brother and stay close to him," John breathed out after seeing his wife lean on the wall of the elevator."I'm not worried about them," she whispered loud enough for him to hear."Look at the city, look how destroyed it is," she pointed out through the
Ash and Kover finally got to their destination, a place that Ash would call a safe house.Be it luck or coincidence, the safe house had a strong structure and was well-layered.It was a two-story building with a lot more underground.Ash quickly opened the door for Kover and followed shortly after. He turned on the torchlight on his cell phone instead of using the one in the house, his intention was not to draw attention to the place until he was sure no one was following them.He quickly dashed through the long hallway together with his brother and soon... He got to the large room ahead. As soon as he got there, he met several figures already in the place but before he could direct the light towards them, one of the figures picked him up by the shirt and slammed him into the wall."You have a lot of explaining to do, you know that?" The figure that held him to the wall yelled in his face."Ash!!" Kover shouted as the cell phone fell from his brother's hand and lightening up the entir
Pant... Pant... Pant... PantSeveral men race along the empty streets of an abandoned and broken city. They were cloth in rags and a few decent clothes. As they ran, some of them had bags and sacks containing food and other daily necessities with them.Behind them trails several zombies that chased after the sounds they made while running."Damn, if you two had followed orders well enough, we won't be in this mess right now," a young male dressed in a blue jacket and black trousers, complained to the two youngsters following him as they all ran for their lives."It wasn't our fault, who knew we would find a zombie trapped underneath the goods," one of the young males replied with a ragged voice."Huh, was that a reason for you to chicken out and scream?" The man shouted again. "You are not completely useless, you know. You have skills, the least you could have done was make use of...""Hey, calm down. Let's focus on getting out of this mess first then you can bite off their necks late
"Bro, where did you get all these!" Jared exclaimed as he grabbed hold of the first gun in sight."I don't think we should be touching that," Sinon suggested."Why not?" Both Ash and Jared asked the same question."Are you even sane? Those are guns, we don't even know where they are from," "We all need this, every one of us-" "Oh yeah? And why?" She said as she interrupted him. "I get that you want us to have an upper hand in this whole thing," Diva cut in. "But what's in it for you?"Hearing that question, Ash thought for a second about how to properly reply."Who cares? We get to keep some of these sweet babies and!" Jared countered and took a dramatic pause. "We get to protect ourselves from those zombies," "You know what" David suddenly asked, making all eyes turn to him. "I think we could use them," "Oh my God, not you too," Sinon responded with an attitude of frustration. "Gareth, tell me you're different,"After releasing a sigh, Gareth walked towards them before speaking.
